... And you just literally ignored 90% of what I said. Fine, I'm not gonna argue in circles.
I will leave this though: They will not do any big retcons of lore to fit any race into the game. Should they ever add another race, they will add one thats appealing to a wide audience while taking the least amount of work possible. I still don't see Lupin fitting that.
You also seem to confuse lore (overall history/background of the world) with the Player characters personal story within said world. Both of these affect each other, as they should; but they don't technically break each other.
Yeah, you're taking Lore much to lightly here. It is true that the game doesnt make much of a distiction between spoken races(i.e. playable races); it does however make a distinction between human and beastraces, which is my problem here. It is hardly as 'painfully irrelevant' as you try to suggest.
But hey, if you're fine with a game that doesn't give a crap about its own story, be my guest; if this game ever gets to that point however, I'm likely one of the first out of the door.
So I'd like to avoid that.
As for Yugiri; I actually am inclined to agree. They handled that kinda crappy, but I'd hope they know that themselves and do it better for whatever next race they may or may not decide to release.
Alisaie/Jobstory: None of these affect the overall world lore though, only the WoLs personal story. Which is a stark difference from having to blatantly ignore/change established lore as they'd have to in order to include Lupin amogst the other playable races.
Well, to me, a Lore argument is much more valid than trying to excuse things that'd make no sense by stating that other items of questionable canoninity are stupid.
Just because some things are dumb doesn't mean everything has to be.
But to each their own.
I can overall agree with this. I would however have to ask: Why not both?
Its not that they'd haveto come up with completely new stuff for already existing races; they already have plenty of lore on them. They just have to make use of it more ingame rather then hiding it away in lorebooks at best and somewhere in their documents folder at worst.

Final thoughts, because I neither have the time nor enough of a horse in this race to care all that much:
If SE ever decides to throw the Lupin - or any beastrace for that matter - in as a playable race, I'd like for them to at least make proper sense of it in the lore. Preferably without breaking it.
Because I like the lore. I care about it. Its one of the reasons why I play this game over other MMOs. And I'd like for the (fictional) world I spend my time in to keep making sense.
