Even if they would make a chemist, it would not be tied to items. That would be stupid.

"Hey, sorry but X died too much so I'm all outta juice for heals. We gotta abandon before the last boss."
"Hey, I forgot to resupply and I can't heal anymore. Can you kick me so that I don't have to eat the penalty?"

These and the like would make players cringe at the mere sight of a Chemist in roulette. Not to mention...what would it offer for the money spent on healing? Why have that one class cost a fortune just to do its job?

A chemist would be nothing but a flavor. Sure, there are mechanic ideas of "mixing" stuff that are good, but it still would take items out of thin air just for the sake of not being...useless. And use MP or TP as resources for balance purposes.

Garlean chemist can definitely work and while having no limited item resource.

Use the same lore mechanic that Machinist uses: Aetheric converter lunch box that builds chemical charges which is spent to make potions and such. Go full into The half life 2 rechargeable medkits on it.

I'm not saying it couldn't work. Personally I don't really like the idea, but whatever. I'd pick it over yer random DPS, just like I originally played Scholar despite not liking the idea of that class.

I merely responded to the post and its comment that it would be too tied to alchemist, which is false.

And as Thavnair is supposedly the middle eastern area on Hydalyn, that could have Dancer as an arabian aesthetic...

I'm still relatively new to the FF Universe. Are there any dark spellcasters in this IP? Like a necromancer or warlock? BLM seems to be the closest in this game, but they don't really use dark magic. Black Mage just seems to mean they deal damage, as opposed to White Mages who heal, and Red Mages who also deal damage but use a sword instead of a stave.

I'd roll a caster who specializes in the dark arts in a very quick heartbeat.

I'd prefer a 2 gun duelist like they've been teasing me with since I first walked into Limsa Lominsa. :P

Not really we are the warriors of light for a reason lol. But necromancer has appeared at least once as a playable job but it’s definitely not popular compared to the other jobs...

Chemist would be a better option for a non caster healer. It just makes more sense than dancer. How would dancer honestly heal without some form of magic?
