    This was your original topic. Notice where you say: "There is nothing good or fair about open world" and then contradict yourself in the next paragraph saying, "if you want, put a roaming boss, that's fine." So yeah basically you are talking out your ass cause you don't want to compete.

    I will agree that the claiming system that is in game right now is detrimental to implementation of open world content. If they can maybe put something in where if certain mobs are claimed by your party others cannot help your party or attack the mob, it could work. or scale it to people in your 'raid' party. idk

    Even still, that fact that you do not want open world content just because you will have to compete with other people is completely absurd. This is really the only reason you have since there are other factors that can be put in place to prevent # of ppl attacking a mob or zerging.

    100% agree with you WiiSam. Open World Dungeon and raid just simply not fun and plainly it just sucks. I don't get why people think it fun competing with your party members, try see who get there first. Kill steal, grief, trying to rush to get to boss to claim the boss first for drop, fighting each other for loots or just stand there and watch other party like an idiots. People say they enjoy open world because they can show off in front of people when they finally get the boss down and the drop. But do you know that 99% of them do not care?? They don't care you got the first kill, the best drop or anything, it does not mean anything.

    Now for instances, I can party up with my link shell and friends. I can take my time to do the instances, get the drop I want without the frustration and without rushing through and competing with massive lag with a bunch of other party that are there then in the end, and finally I can't get anything because they already kill it or they are camping it. With instances, I can keep trying with my friends and fellow linkshell. I may failed, but I can keep doing it without all the frustration above. And please don't even get me started on Open World boss camping and bot we have to deal with open world dungeon and raids.

    And people are obsess and like Open World Dungeon/Raid because they can all join together to form a massive party and just zerge the boss in couple seconds. There is no challenge and don't tell me that is fun. I guess people just like stuff to be handed to them.

    Why can't both be ingame?
    Instanced dungeons are more for boss fights and open world dungeons more for grinding and farming.
    If you enter a instanced dungeon, your goal would be the boss on the end of the dungeon. But if you enter an open world dungeon, there don't need to be a boss as long as there is something to grind and farming. Nobody would enter a instanced dungeon to farming some items (gear not counted).

    I'm not sure about the other dungeons, but for Shposhae all you have to do is kill mobs that drops the key. And they respawn plenty of them. The Lurkers, which are localized, respawn about a dozen every 30 seconds. A dozen or 16 of them spawn in groups of 4. Fighting for lurkers is the sort of competition between other players called claiming, which is why I gave the example of Hunter's Moon: The Curse of Dalamud (09/02/2011).

    For crabs, fish, wolves there are so many around the dungeon there's really no competition for them. The only other thing that is limited for claiming competitions are the NMs in there since there's only 1 of each, and respawns within maybe 10 minutes (except the coeurl where you have to kill all the wolves.) And none of the NMs drops keys.

    So, correct me if there's another open dungeon that is different from Shposhae's design of monsters, coffers, and NMs.

    I play Vindictus, but it not a valid argument because Vindictus is not open world game while game like FFXIV are. I want to do quest, grind from time to time. do instance once in awhile. This two kind of game are very different.

    And I like instances more if they would stop making it required 8 people. Just make it 4 or no number requirement. Who care if we fail if we don't have enough people, that is our choice. I find SE keep forcing us to group together. That is fine, but don't force us to group in 8 or more.

    Coeurl drops a gold key or something. But that's hardly the point, you're still competing for lurkers or whatever mobs dropthe keys.In the strongholds it is just ONE mob that drops a certain key. Remember also those items are in higher demand so competition is intense. Shposhae is usually quite empty.
