I don't udnerstand he and tohers mix it up either. And just because we -already- have some instanced dungeons doesn't mean the fight for them are over. We want more and we want themd esigned better and structured better and presented in a way that in can feel like it's an open world when you're trying to get to the entrance of the dungeon.

Oh please dude. I'm on a forum for a game with a questionable community of smug, pseudo-intellectuals. I don't come here for proper debate.

    Anyway,

The point I'm trying to make is that I don't think every dungeon should suddenly turn into an instance. Give me an indoor, dungeon-like area with puzzles, NMs, all that stuff similar to Shposhae but with a little more depth and story involvement like the dungeons in that other MMO which shall not be named. Hell, level cap em so high levels can't run me through the area, I don't mind. On the other hand, I agree that instanced raids need a lot more depth them besides being short linear quests through a cheesy dungeon full of empty rooms with a tough boss at the end. Something like that should please both crowds instead of "Derp instance everything" or "Herp open-world everything". Call me crazy, but I like meeting players in the middle of a scary ass dungeon. Never know when someone can pop up and save your life then become a new friend.

The suckiness of current available content is irrelevant.

Instanced stuff is fine and we do need it, but i would like to see open world content as well. I like camping and the competition of claiming mobs in front of other groups.

I guess Shposhae just left such a bad taste in my mouth for an "open world dungeon." It's pretty hypocritical for me to say "well you just don't like DD because it's designed bad" and turn around say "Shposhae is designed bad thusly I hate it." I can't really give a legit opinion on whether or not open world dungeons would be enjoyable(in my opinion.) I enjoy Strongholds, and would like to see maybe larger strongholds with more bosses. I enjoyed them in XI. So yes, I'll admit I responded without really thinking.

It's not the only way to do systems -- However that's exactly what the majority of instanced based MMOs turns into; Hub cities > Teleport to instances. Almost zero interaction with the open world is kept in mind except with the occasional roaming NM or kill quest.

Open world should be restricted tojsut NMs and NOT dungeons
Usually, in RPGs/MMOs you used to have open world dungeons and bosses and raids within those dungeons were instanced, now it's like you have your hub city..then you teleport to an instance, which is usually a dungeon. When even basic Cave systems become instances, that's kind of proof people seemingly have something against a living breathing world.

exactly. i am not against instances nor am i against open world. i like both.

give me instances with high levels of complexity and i am happy.

give me a bunch of open world strongholds and high level nm's like the ones tanaka put in back in january.

give me options to do both. i understand there's people that want to only do instances and there's people that only want open world stuff. i like both and would do both, but we need more of both. i don't like going one way or the other because one group gets left out. i like to do both so let's get some of both types of content.

He won't save your life if you're fighting something drops a coffer key. But everybody would love to have that experience, its a great feeling, a great scenario, you can have that, but just don't make it a dungeon. When I say dungeon I mean an area with multiple bosses/coffers where people can compete. Make it a quest area, an area with a bunch of cool quests and rewards, that way you can solo or not, people will save you, you'll run into people, team up, etc etc. If it isn't too competitive it will bring people together. Otherwise he is just going to let you die until it is his turn.

So I'm not even sure what are you referring to when saying "fighting dudes for coffers all day".
Huh? You have to compete with them to kill the dude who has the key...?
