    How many times? Just about the same amount of times i've seen people let others die so they can make the claim. When I make statements they aren't going to be 100%, they are generalizations, get it? A rebuttal denying an extreme is always pointless. I never said EVERYONE will let you die.

    Point is, you can have that friendly feeling of meeting randoms while eliminating threatful competition by just making it a cool area to explore qith quests and rewards.

    One thing people complained about was how empty the world was, you get vast zones of nothingness till you see camp, if everything goes instanced thats what we will get, you have not mentioned any reasons for wanting them instanced or nothing that is clear in your post.

    If they instance everything we might as well get rid of zones and have instaport from uldah (our glorified lobby) to the instances or people will rage that there is nothing in the zones because they wanted everything instanced, if we cant even have beastmen strongholds in open world what can we have, the small settlements you hardly ever see and are there just to bring some life to eorzea?

    EVERY TIME! No really, if the person needs healed, I will heal em(if I can cure). If they die, I will raise em, every time.

    umm, no. I want the bosses in those dungeons where two+ linkshells are camping the boss trying to claim and then kill to get drop. Just cause you dont like something doesnt mean everyone doesnt like it as well.

    WiiSam I take it you've had some bad experiences in past MMOs. I mean I've had em too but honestly I've had more good ones than bad in my time playing XI. Like other people in the thread are saying, having both open and instanced content is the way to go. It's one of the few cases where you can please everyone without inconveniencing the less interested folks who want to play their own way. Kind of like PvP, it gets a lot of bad rep and many PvE-only fans don't want it in the game at all when it will not affect their gameplay experience when it's properly implemented and separate from PvE.

    You don't think it is dumb that FIVE linkshells can just zerg a boss? You actually think that is cool and you want that? That isn't hardcore...that's stuff a baby can do. Now if they eventually release guilds (which is supposed to be the coming together of linkshells) then hopefully there will be bosses that require you to form a bigger "raid" party and then thats fine. It won't be zerging. But whatever the intended amount of people necessary to kill a mob, eg a party of 8 right now, nobody else should be able to hit that mob. Zerging is the retardo.

    Anyway, let me try to bring the topic back again cause we have gone off. I am not saying NO open world content, I am saying avoid open world content that is threatful and vicious competition ie open world coffers/dungeons.

    I am also saying let us restrict zerging because its silly. But Splice maybe the second linkshell can heal on the outside? You can still get yourself some easy mode zerging that way no problem, everybody wins!

    i want open world, a lot of it, i was saying though having strongholds instanced would just make them easier to do, specially at the moment. other then that i want lot of open world stuff, specially sky and sea type stuff where we are all running around fighting for nm's, farming mobs and killing huge bosses.

    instance's you grind equip and whats the point after you get it since you were able to beat the instance with out it. and people just want to rush in and out and that sums it up, just look at darkhold. and its systematic, the "this is the only job combo that can do it!!" way of thinking.

    open world can be anything and you can watch people do stuff, add competetion to the game. run into people, you can find NM's, the world will be lively not a baren wasteland instance heavy game are like with everyone waiting in queue(future or FFXIV) or just /sh's in town like they do now.

    This is not to say you should be forced to watch as another linkshell has stolen an HNM or competed for a spawn with you, those are issues that should be addressed but what I am saying is that instanced is not always the answer.

    yup. square might as well copy sega and make the world like pso since there not going to use the open world just make hubs and send them into a instance. SE said they want a social game but is everything is in a little room your rushed through it going to be anti-social when the dungeon finder pops up.

    just like in dcu right now (it went f2p by way) u enter a instance anyone that entered first is probably already started it and killing stuff, rarely see talking ..occasionally some people on the ingame vent and clear as quick as possible and done, rinse and repeat if want or pick a different one. doesn't feel like a mmo that way.
