    Anyway,

    The point I'm trying to make is that I don't think every dungeon should suddenly turn into an instance. Give me an indoor, dungeon-like area with puzzles, NMs, all that stuff similar to Shposhae but with a little more depth and story involvement like the dungeons in that other MMO which shall not be named. Hell, level cap em so high levels can't run me through the area, I don't mind. On the other hand, I agree that instanced raids need a lot more depth them besides being short linear quests through a cheesy dungeon full of empty rooms with a tough boss at the end. Something like that should please both crowds instead of "Derp instance everything" or "Herp open-world everything". Call me crazy, but I like meeting players in the middle of a scary ass dungeon. Never know when someone can pop up and save your life then become a new friend.

    The suckiness of current available content is irrelevant.

    I guess Shposhae just left such a bad taste in my mouth for an "open world dungeon." It's pretty hypocritical for me to say "well you just don't like DD because it's designed bad" and turn around say "Shposhae is designed bad thusly I hate it." I can't really give a legit opinion on whether or not open world dungeons would be enjoyable(in my opinion.) I enjoy Strongholds, and would like to see maybe larger strongholds with more bosses. I enjoyed them in XI. So yes, I'll admit I responded without really thinking.

    He won't save your life if you're fighting something drops a coffer key. But everybody would love to have that experience, its a great feeling, a great scenario, you can have that, but just don't make it a dungeon. When I say dungeon I mean an area with multiple bosses/coffers where people can compete. Make it a quest area, an area with a bunch of cool quests and rewards, that way you can solo or not, people will save you, you'll run into people, team up, etc etc. If it isn't too competitive it will bring people together. Otherwise he is just going to let you die until it is his turn.

    How many times? Just about the same amount of times i've seen people let others die so they can make the claim. When I make statements they aren't going to be 100%, they are generalizations, get it? A rebuttal denying an extreme is always pointless. I never said EVERYONE will let you die.

    Point is, you can have that friendly feeling of meeting randoms while eliminating threatful competition by just making it a cool area to explore qith quests and rewards.

    umm, no. I want the bosses in those dungeons where two+ linkshells are camping the boss trying to claim and then kill to get drop. Just cause you dont like something doesnt mean everyone doesnt like it as well.

    You don't think it is dumb that FIVE linkshells can just zerg a boss? You actually think that is cool and you want that? That isn't hardcore...that's stuff a baby can do. Now if they eventually release guilds (which is supposed to be the coming together of linkshells) then hopefully there will be bosses that require you to form a bigger "raid" party and then thats fine. It won't be zerging. But whatever the intended amount of people necessary to kill a mob, eg a party of 8 right now, nobody else should be able to hit that mob. Zerging is the retardo.

    Anyway, let me try to bring the topic back again cause we have gone off. I am not saying NO open world content, I am saying avoid open world content that is threatful and vicious competition ie open world coffers/dungeons.

    I am also saying let us restrict zerging because its silly. But Splice maybe the second linkshell can heal on the outside? You can still get yourself some easy mode zerging that way no problem, everybody wins!

    just like in dcu right now (it went f2p by way) u enter a instance anyone that entered first is probably already started it and killing stuff, rarely see talking ..occasionally some people on the ingame vent and clear as quick as possible and done, rinse and repeat if want or pick a different one. doesn't feel like a mmo that way.

    This still doesn't cover the claim system that is currently in the game. Even with a 'raid' party, if it is open world, anyone can attack the mob.

    I will agree that the claiming system that is in game right now is detrimental to implementation of open world content. If they can maybe put something in where if certain mobs are claimed by your party others cannot help your party or attack the mob, it could work. or scale it to people in your 'raid' party. idk

    Even still, that fact that you do not want open world content just because you will have to compete with other people is completely absurd. This is really the only reason you have since there are other factors that can be put in place to prevent # of ppl attacking a mob or zerging.
