Seems one of the QoL updates to expect in 4.3 will give people a prompt asking if they would like to be forcibly teleported into the boss arena.
So no need for unskippable cutscenes.

Oh yeyThat's good news
Great solution, as I said before if not skipping cutscenes was too much another solution would be great so this works the same way, it still lets them watch the cutscene. Thank you to those who supported this and who support and welcome new people to FFXIV.
That should at least solve the issue "this" thread is about, but will likely not solve the MSQ cutscene issue, though I suppose if this feature is well received they may go back and apply it to the MSQ.Seems one of the QoL updates to expect in 4.3 will give people a prompt asking if they would like to be forcibly teleported into the boss arena.

Ha I would totally stop playing this game if they began unskippable scenes for everything.
That would probably push me to go find something new to do as fun and nostalgic everything I like about this game.
I just don't have the time to re-watch it all again that's what the book is for in the INN if I wanted to see scenes again.
I already stopped running the 50 story quest due to them locking the skip away, towers would probably push me to the edge lol id be heading straight to bless online
Please tell me your high, as I can't tell if you're serious or just joking. MSQ roulette is already dead enough because of the forced cutscenes. If they add forced cutscenes to Alliance Raids then it will essentially kill off this raid. MSQ roulette cutscenes is different as it ties into the ACTUAL storyline. Alliance Raid storylines are FILLER and people mostly do it for fun (via the story) and to get gear (which btw alliance raids will have the ALL GREED system in place, which will make grinding for gear you want slower). Raids aren't msq roulettes in which se would do forced cutscene crap. If newbies get left behind in actual raids then I'm sorry but a lot of us want to get our crap and get out. Alliance Raids are made up of 24 people dude. You want 23 people to wait for 1 person to get through cutscenes? Please tell me your joking. If you're high, please tell me what you're smokin lol. This is a plea to square enix to please add forced cutscenes in alliance raids. In almost every alliance raid these days people are pulling the last boss leaving new people out of the fight. A lot of these new people even skip the cutscenes and still get locked out because they don't load fast enough or don' t have sprint ready. There's nothing worse than being new to a raid and missing that last important fight, it's not worth it at that point.
If anyone is in support please support and like the request. If not then give us anew solution, be cordial.
P.S: 9/10 the alliances will wipe and have to fight the boss all over again anyway, so the newbies would have their chance anyway.

Why would you....just why..
People are still posting these ridiculously exaggerated doom scenarios after SE already announced that they're not doing it and implemented a more elegant solution?
Read the damn thread before replying, people.

What a great solution to the problem OP had. As a bonus, it'll also help for times when someone goes AFK unnoticed and gets locked out, or when a RDM accidentally backflips out of the arena, or any number of other annoying lockout scenarios.Seems one of the QoL updates to expect in 4.3 will give people a prompt asking if they would like to be forcibly teleported into the boss arena.

Unfortunately it's not really a good solution to the MSQ dungeons, since the issue there wasn't so much that people couldn't get into boss fights, it's that the entire fight was already finished by the time they got out of the cutscene.
So now the English blog has updated, the 'teleport into boss arena' is actually forced on you. You only have the option of 'Yes' or 'Wait,' which seems to be set at 30 seconds.
The only time people will not be forced into the room is if they release after dying.
