The PC search, even though it is pretty much a direct copy from XI is leaps and bounds above my expectations for XIV.

So happy to see a working system with area search, comments, direct invite, and player info.

Yeah, yeah we had it in XI. But it really stands out among MMO's (especially western ones) as an example of a pretty awesome FF-online feature done very well.



The big question remains can we use {auto translate} in our comments????

For example, about two days ago, Triary posted on all regions all the Dev tags required to hold discussions for all planned changes on 1.20. I have not seen a Started thread with the proper Dev tag for the search feature details or any other of the new tags for that matter.

Hmmm, it would be more accurate to say : they can't "respond" if there is no question about it. If we do not start a thread holding a discussion about how the search feature will be, it will seem we are content to wait for the information to be post on The Lodestone.

Relaying information via translators is certainly the case with the German and French Reps - German rep Sasu has it on record she speaks no Japanese and thus goes through English channels for her questions to the devs.

SE seems to be treating English a little differently, especially since the English localisation of the game is in some cases the original language concept (eg: "the Maelstrom" as a name concept came from the English writers and was then localized to Japanese - the reverse was the case for "the Immortal Flames".), so I wouldn't be surprised if Bay and Rukki actually have to have Japanese language skills for their positions and do much of the translating themselves.

the reason why our devs can't translate as quick as reiny (who does an great job). is becuase our devs get bogged down with a million threads about how bad the primal weapons are, or what ever the new release news is at the time
