Healer Horror Stories: Redux

Currently levelling a Ninja - got Manor (Hard) via 50/60 roulette with a second Ninja, PLD and WHM. It is the first time I've seen a WHM using MedII to primarily heal - by that, I mean they would pre-pull MedII, spam it during combat (treating it like MedI), and cast it after trash was dead. Dying during a trash pull due to over-aggro didn't dissuade them, nor did the fact that when the other members didn't know Halicarnassus' mechanics (kill the adds) and people started dying to blood rain, she had bottomed out her MP doing the above and could only cast one raise (which she used on the other Ninja who was practically ignoring adds and also horrendously under-geared). On explaining the mechanics, it turns out only the PLD was capable of speaking English, though I started to suspect the "Deutsch (something something)" comment from the other two was a ruse to avoid confrontation.

Let's just say I was glad when it was over. Kudos to the Paladin - despite the WHM's repeated Meds, he did a stable job of keeping adds mostly to himself. The WHM death occurred during that horrible AoE corridor bit, so he had more than just adds to worry about at the time.

I've seen this more than once. I've posted about it before in the Duty Finder thread in the General Discussion. It's annoying to say the least.

Just had two tanks who forgot to turn on shield oath. First one turned it on after the second boss in Brayflox's Longstop, and my group suffered through to the end on my sch I was leveling. However he was smart enough to use his aggro combos and flash.

Second one turned it on after I had spammed {Shield Oath} {Do you have it?}, and it took us 30 minutes to kill the first boss. The mnk was subtanking so I could keep the party alive, and yes, our tank was not using flash, waking adds the blm had slept, and only used rage of halone. We killed it, and my friends and I ragequit the instance after that boss. I have never had to burn my mp on sch so hard like that, even Eos ragequit after wave 4.

I was doing sigmascape 3.0 this morning, and was cohealing with another WHM. I noticed that the only aero dots were mine, so I took to watching the other whm's performance, and... no dpsing, casting healing spells on full HP bars. SIGH...

I type in chat, "plz dps when you get the chance". He replies with "not my job".

We get in an argument during the fight which causes us both to get caught in aoe's and failing certain mechanics. I should have just let it be...

At least we didn't wipe. No comms though I should have expected that. Wouldn't be surprised if other healer got comms.

So I'm doing Ala Migo for my last bit of mendacity. Everything was going well asides from our Rdm who was having internet trouble. Then on the second boss our Drg decides to use limit break in the middle of a bunch of aoe's. He dies. So I immediately raise him. Or so I thought. The boss dies and he respawns. No big deal.

Then he cops an attitude. He acts like I committed a horrid sin by doing my job. He told my not to raise him while the boss' health is low as it "interrupts" their re spawn. Then he told me to "pay attention"

Last time I checked I was just doing my job. So I told him if anyone needs paying attention he shouldn't use LB in the middle of a bunch of aoe's. Needless to say it killed the entire mood of the dungeon. I know I shouldn't have talked back but its infuriating when a dps acts like they know everything right after they make a mistake. A mistake I might add that healers have to clean up.

Thus ends my tale of salt for this week.

Just had two tanks who forgot to turn on shield oath.

Met one of these after hitting 60 during my NIN levelling spree a few days back. No, that's not accurate, it's one of those PLD's who never leave Sword Oath. I was practically tanking most of the run on NIN, and decided not to get involved in the first boss fight (which, surprise-surprise, took them forever to kill thanks to boss farting about after different targets constantly). They didn't even use Flash.

We eventually kicked the guy seeing as no amount of [Shield Oath] mention made them change their mind. They even ran off, pulled two packs and tried to get them to kill the DPS/Healer who were standing back politely asking the PLD to stop ignoring their purpose for even being there. They didn't say a single word the entire time, so I just presume it was a total troll. Either way, I told the guys I'd come back and tank it myself, so I did... And it was then I realized that the Healer was a pure-healer, further explaining why the boss took forever (as well as why it was constantly changing targets - constant over-healing). I didn't mind lending them a hand and keeping my word, but that doesn't mean I didn't regret going back. Had nothing to gain by on the Warrior so just ended up gritting my teeth and scolding myself for making promises.

Got the total opposite yesterday. A cocky tank in Bardem rushing off for the usual 2.5 pack pull with an unprepared WHM getting paralysed trying to throw out a Holy to quell the burst. Wipe. Of course, Tank blamed the Healer, Healer blamed the Tank, and the mood was soured further by Healer leaving and everyone standing around for 10minutes waiting for a replacement while they ranted about how much of a 'noob' the Healer was.

Gotta love roulette.

I wouldnt call it depressing. When you think that you fcked something hard during roulette, then you can come here. After reading few stories you will know that you werent that bad

It can be depressing if it resonates very frequently. Truth be told, for all the eye-rolling I find myself doing lately, it's hard to forget the runs that go by smoothly inbetween. To make up for all the terrible things I've experienced as WHM, some other Healer has to tolerate my undergeared Ninja. What goes around...
