Victim as wellAdmittedly, I was skeptical but I wasn't aware of the mechanics of it yet. A whole set and a weapon later, yeah I enjoy it. I want to dive as lvl1 alt now to see if catching up really is as bad as some people made it out to be.
I could expand a lot on this, but to put it simply: Soloing and duoing is still completely viable and just fine for EXP, especially now. Just pay attention to the map every once in a while for NMs. The only problem is its still almost worthless for Protean Crystals compared to just NM zerging, and you still can't get a single Anemos Crystal or Lockbox. Of course, all of this and what "viable" means changes depending on what you enjoy/tolerate doing. That's a shame, my buddy and I were hoping we'd stop getting punished for wanting to do the instance as a duo rather than join a bunch of strangers. Oh well. We'll still give it a go but if what you say is true we'll probably be back to ignoring Eureka and wishing SE understood what "fun" meant to us soon enough.
Actually, the fact that you don't get Anemos crystals which are required - forget even the weapons, required for the level 17 quest, means that just soloing and ignoring NMs is really not viable in the least. The game mode itself requires you went NM hunting several times just to progress the story. And NMs being FATE bosses, yeah playing single or even duo isn't as viable unless you can really generate a mountain of agro to offset your few numbers as someone testified to doing a couple of pages back.
Helluuuuuuu

Yeah, I know many people, me included, who unsubbed. My forum access ends tomorrow, as it will be 2 weeks since my sub ended. Only 1 friend stayed to grind it out, everyone else left the game. Eureka was the final straw, we've been feeling that XIV lost its way since SB started.
There was plenty of uncivilized debate, but whatever.I feel the best way to deal with comments telling you/implying you to "shut up" is to just assume you've won the argument/debate(naturally you don't say/post this), especially if everything before then was being debated in a civil manner. If it was someone just piggybacking (as I frequently do), then naturally you pay them no mind. At least, that's what I would do.
You also know where I stand with Eureka and I know where you stand. We no longer have to argue against each other over this as we'd just end up going through the same steps of the dance again. I will say that Eureka was probably held back until 4.2(5) as SE was probably figuring out how to make it so that FFXIV could handle having players hold 999 of X item. I can't prove this of course, but we both know that Eureka requires ~1400 Protean Crystals to go from base to +2 (imagine if this was still required when we could only hold 99 of X item).
Blaming the 999 stack thing is indeed poor design. For one it can be in a currency tab, like the other currencies should be (like sigma/delta, other 8 man raids, mount currencies, etc) Another way dealing with that is "debloating" values, needing 99 not 1400 and adjusting the drops accordingly. So the blame is still on them for item bloat happy to begin with. (same goes with chests and all the junk you get from them) I do not even want to deal with them from the inventory bloat on them being so high.

There's a trap to that, mind. If you do that you risk falling back to the old patterns of rng that made so many people frustrated with the initial crystal farming in the start of the Anima weapon. There's a a reason why people say this is Diadem meets Atma farming, you know. And in that regard, I think they did learn a lesson. Giving us a bloated amount of items we need to trade in but keeping them dropping on a regular basis is less mentally taxing, to me at least. You constantly see progress, you're constantly awarded, and I think that's one thing they did learn from previous grinds.
That is not to say this particular bit should've in any way shape or form postponed the release of this content when the currency tab exists.
doesn't matter how people feel, it was just showing that is no excuse. You do not need rng to debloat item count. There's a trap to that, mind. Example, I shouldn't have 999 lockboxes, I can have 10=999 and those 10 = mount turn in. SE is just item bloat happy for this game, for whatever reason.
