Allow me to back-peddle a bit. I didn't mean to say that you can't beat him as ARC at all, you certainly can beat Ifrit with other setups than the 5 to 6 LNC setup. There are a few problems with ARC, however. The first is that ARC attack animations are longer than those for other classes. (That is once you consider that ARC will be basically doing all weapon skills. Compare those animations to the auto-attack animation from LNC for example.) Arc also cannot take damage as well as other DD classes, those two things combined make ARC extremely difficult to play well in the Ifrit battle. Compound that with not having the other highly recommended skills like Rampart and Sentinal and, well, the ARC is gonna be screwed.

I will definitely give you that it is more difficult to beat it as an Archer then as something else. It is definitely less efficient as well. But my point is, it is not nearly as hard as a lot of people say it is, and if you are with friends or a good LS they will not exclude you because of a loss of efficiency. Winning with archers is entirely do-able, and anyone that tells you otherwise hasn't really tried it.

If someone is continually dieing from Ifrit while playing Archer, it is not really the games fault more than it is the player's inability to adapt. That's all I mean.
