I have a single two word phrase for why nobody wants an archer for an Ifrit battle; "animation lock". Simply put, you will only die as ARC.

Sorry, if ARC is your only 50, but that's the state of the game atm. You should probably find a PLer to get some of your other classes up or just start another one on your own and take the slow methodical route. It's become incredibly easy and fast to get a class to 50 since the last patch though, especially with a good PLer. This game is designed for people to play many classes, not just one. There are quite a number of situations that require it, so it's not really optional if you want to do your best in all situations. Whether or not that will change remains to be seen. If you plan on playing this game long term, it would be wise to cap all of your battle classes.
