And this is their mistake. I remember when i played GW1 ArenaNet didnt have any problem to publish how many account were banned each quarter... and i can tell you there was a lot of them. Sometimes measured in thousands or even tens of thousands.

But dont forget each time they need to buy entire game, so the cost isnt only paying a RMT for lost stuff but each time they must spend for the game itself and they will think more than once if they really want to risk. For the buyers the pressure will be always bigger than for RMT for the fact they could lose everything.
This of course will not completely eradicate all the RMT but it could lower the amount to some acceptable levels, as there is no online game without RMT. The point is to have constant pressure on buyers and RMT will drop as the demand drops. Even if you remove houses from RMT there are tons of other things what are enough "motivating" to keep this whole RMT story in perpetual motion.
Last but not least, honest player really cant be against banning everyone involved in RMT so why not...

This is my last iteration as it is obvious you have your beliefs and I have mine. SE does publish the number of bans. However knowing that 10K anonymous players were banned does nothing to stop people from violating the TOS. Even if SE were to name the players it is a very small group of people that would have a relationship with the banned player. Look I'm not against more aggressive banning on SE's part but the only thing that will fix housing is for SE to develop a system that allows for unlimited houses (a fully instanced housing option is my preference). No matter how many band-aids SE puts on the current system there will always be incentives for RMT to find and exploit loopholes. Also as long as housing is seen as a status symbol there will be players who will do just about anything to obtain a house or houses. Unlimited housing is the only way to stop this.

You are right but again failed to see bigger picture. Lets say you put unlimited houses in the game this will just remove one small fraction for RMTers to sell as they are left with tons of other stuff to exploit for money. So your position sounds as it comes from someone who doesnt have a house than "lets try to fix RMT on a global scale". How removing just one item from hundreds of them exploited by RMTers will change anything? What is next? Unlimited items in each chest so RMT cant sell their runs as you finish the dungeon once you have all the items... including other 7 or 23 people...

This thread isn't about RMT in general. It is about housing and the RNG timer which was only put in place in an attempt to stop house flippers by making it hard to relinquish a house so a buyer could assume ownership. The RNG timer like the other bandages SE has put on housing leaks like a sieve and doesn't fix the problem it is intended to. SE's housing system is one big CF and needs a total redesign for a lot more than RMT but as RMT is a hot button it just might motivate SE more than some players complaining about not having a house.

As far as ownership goes I've owned a house coming up on two years. Just because I have one doesn't mean I'm not going to advocate for those who don't or play a white knight and say "I've got mine" so everything is okey dokey. The housing system stinks and RMT is just a part of it.
