The Goblet's main flaw is the layout. It's terrible when you're standing in your yard and most of what you see is a wall or the upper floor/rooftop of neighboring homes. It's a problem with a few plots in the other districts but not nearly as many are affected compared to Goblet.

The second flaw is bad weather kills the view of the canyons for the good plots that actually have a decent one. I can sit out in my Mist yard during bad weather and still have a good view of the coastline. When I had a house in Goblet with a canyon view, the canyon almost completely disappeared leaving me staring at grey nothing.

When it comes to decorating, I'd much rather work with Goblet's neutral tones but I spend a lot of time outside gardening so the outside view is important.

I don't live in Goblet, but my FC does, and I definitely have to agree it needs some sprucing up. Ul'dah could use a makeover too, but that's a whole OTHER thing lol. Personally, I would very much like to see something more along these lines for any future renovation. It was what I always envisioned when I imagined the Goblet to begin with anyway.

This is absolutely true. The scrubby Mojave Desert, which is very similar to Thanalan, isn't just brown rock and random bushes. It can be quite vibrant.

I'd like to see a Goblet, and moreover a Thanalan, that wasn't just brown for miles around.

I have a simple suggestion but might should work. First if we can swimming on the waterfalls. Secoond is this.

On the goblet the water don't get so close to the pub. I wanna more water for hotel look.
More interection with thee bartender. On the mist when you sit on the chair the miquote interact with you. I wanna that the bartender serve me a drink. This would make everyone get near on the bar. Yes the restaurants on the game are a problem because we can't dinner on them and pay gil for it like on GTA. Yes this is some of the ''open world content'' that we need on game.

Well, they could keep the same general layout, but give it a bit more of a vibrant atmosphere. Maybe either remove the windmill or make it nice and fancy. Another waterfall or 2 would be nice as well, but honestly? Just the color scheme similar to this picture and possibly more greenery (and possible other things like statues and fountains) and BAM, you'd have a desert paradise people would come flocking to.

Am I the only one that likes the goblet?
I like how the winding roads, tunnels, and stairs give it more depth. I like the differing elevation on houses over having them all on even ground next to each other. I like the windmill framed against the night skybox, slowly churning in the distance of my house. I like the streetlamps that light the paved roads at night. I like the more grounded color scheme. It feels like a town you can see people living in.

I'm not against changes to the goblet, but I feel like I wouldn't really recognize it anymore with some of the changes suggested.

Should it be more colorful or greener? Maybe. But I'm hesitant to say the Las Vegas Caesar's Palace pool is something I'm all that big a fan of. I'm not sure I want to walk outside my home and immediately see a big fuck off public pool with bikini clad catgirl npcs walking around. I like the Mist fine but it feels like a beach resort filled with summer homes of the rich. Which is, again, fine. I just want Goblet to stay a bit more residential.

Taking away the maze like urban feel would be unfortunate to me. The main thing I don't like about Shirogane is because it feels like all the houses are placed orderly side by side in a remarkably bland way. (Don't get me wrong, I love Shiro's little shopping strip in the center. It's not like I hate Shiro or anything.)

Nope, I like it as well. But there's a reason that it's always the last area to fill and the area with the most currently available houses across most servers: it's simple not as visually appealing as the others. From what I've seen in this thread, not many people want another forest or beach resort. They simply want what they have to look nicer. It's supposed to be an area fit for the wealthiest of Ul'Dah. Currently, it fails to deliver on that. I'm not asking for anything drastic myself, I just want it to be fancy like it's supposed to be.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

They all need work but Goblet needs a bomb.

I recently moved into the Goblet because I noticed there were still plots open there on my server when everything else was bought up. I was initially planning to use it as a stepping stone to go somewhere else in the future, but I managed to get a house on the cliff side with a market board directly in front of it (Plot 54). I find myself warming up to the location. Now that I've adjusted to the Goblet, I'm not sure there's much more that could be done to improve it. I like the upper walkways that allow someone to move around and look down at all the houses that are along the edge. The Brimming Heart is pretty cool, but it feels like I have to make a special effort to go there since I don't live in it. Being on the cliff like I am is pretty interesting too, but some of the other houses don't feel as satisfying. For instance, I initially grabbed Plot 10. That one is jammed behind other houses and inconvenient, although it does have its own cliff view (maybe the lack of a nearby market board and aetheryte is making me biased when comparing it to my current plot, I dunno). I think a lot of people picture plots like 10/40 when they think about the Goblet in general, which makes less people consider the zone as a viable option. I know in my case it was a perception thing, where I believed the other zones would feel better aesthetically simply because they weren't in the desert.

We don't really live in these houses, of course, which is why I think a lot of people like to pick one that feels more like a vacation spot. At least in the cases of the Mist and Shirogane, they feel kind of like resorts and give people that "vacation" feel they're looking for. I guess more water could be added to other parts of the Goblet, but it would have to be done properly or it would just look strange. Some of the earlier suggestions of adding more color, statues, merchant stalls, or sitting areas may be more realistic. In the end, there's always going to be a least popular option. The desert is probably fighting an uphill battle against the forest, beach, and Eastern beach.
