Kinda wish they had a resell system in place..

In the situation i'm in, i want to transfer my character to a new server. I own a large personal house in Shirogane.

Now I'm hold hostage if I want to get back any gil on my purchase or wait 45 days.

Really had hoped SE would had something for us in a situation like this.

I wish they'd implement the same conditions that they have for auto demolitions for relinquishing plots. 80% of the price of the plot refunded. It'd still be a bit of a gil sink, and it'd make things much, much easier for someone looking to move.

It would be nice, but it would overshadow their relocation system, which only refunds 30%. Though it does have the perk of not needing a permit for a new home and transfers everything for you.

The relocation system gives a LOT less than 30% of what you paid. Assuming you didn't buy your plot at lowest minimum price , (which is 50% of the starting price), you get 30% of the minimum price applied towards the relocation. So when I moved to a large recently, my 20m lav beds medium turned into: 20m /2 = 10m, then 30% of that equalled to 3m credit.

Say quite frequently they need a decent sale / transfer / exchange system in place for loads of reasons.

Tenants should also reset demo timers. And should be a transfer system where if for any reason I don't want my house anymore I can simply hand over ownership to a tenant..

As well as decent exchange systems. So players can swap plots to try and be closer to friends or fc members..... like Jack and Jill would like to be neighbours. Jack has plot 15 in ward 3. Jill has plot 14 in ward 6. Andrew has plot 14 in ward 3. Jill and Andrew should be allowed to swap plots if they both agree.

They totally have the means to allow for a refund when transferring. There was an offer for server moves to desired servers (either from a congested server to a preferred server or from any server to a new server) which included a full refund for your house as well as additional gil for furniture that could not be removed without destroying it. You had to demolish your house but not relinquish the plot before transferring. I took this offer when I returned to the game in August, and it worked beautifully. So yeah, they COULD do full or partial refunds for transfers easily. But they aren't.

I've suggested this before in older threads but I think an easy solution would be to allow a speed up feature to the auto demo timer (with like 10 are you positive menus) that cuts the auto demo time to 24 hours giving you way less of a wait time but also some sort of window in case you change ur mind.

I think the reason they won't do this is because this will give more people an incentive to buy a plot in order to resell it, because then they'd not only get whatever they're being paid to relinquish it, but they'd also get back 80% of what they paid for it. I hate the 45-day timer, and I'm currently waiting one out, too, but given all the measures they recently took to stop resells, this wouldn't help it.

This makes sense for why there's no general resell option, but I think if you made it so you can get 80% (or even 60%) back when you transfer servers, less people would exploit it in that way because you have to pay real money to transfer.

That's not realy a problem. Or rather it wouldn't be if they had a decent resale system in place plots wouldn't be relinquished so they wouldn't get that extra money. sales and exchanges would all be handled in a single transaction...

If for example I no longer wanted my house for whatever reason and sold it to a friend. All I'd get is that sale money. As the property wouldn't be relinquished at all. Just a transfer of ownership from myself to him. so I wouldn't get back that 80% refund on top of what I've already been paid.

The general resale of plots has never been the problem anyway. It should be allowed for hundreds of reasons. The prroblem has always been players buying plots for the sole purpose of flipping at exasperant profits. To that end the recent changes do nothing to prevent flippers.

There's a guy on my server who is still flipping plots quite frequently because the timer does absolutely nothing to stop him doing so.
In fact he's getting extra gil as a result of it.
Because if he sells a large for 200m he doesn't relinquish the plot. Instead he just goes and relocates to a small in the Goblet thus getting back like 30% of the price of the large on top of the 200m he's been paid to release the plot... So next time a medium or large comes up he can snag it straight away via relocataion and flip it again.....

I was told about this guy because some friends in an ls paid him 200m for his large for there fc house. and within minutes he sold them the large relocated to the goblet and then relocated to the lavender beds into the fcs old medium plot and was trying to flog that off a couple of hours later....

That random timer doesn't do anything to prevent flipping. its a total waste of space
(except maybe balmung or other massive pop servers)
