That's why we have people from other servers always commenting in our server forum...
lulz .
I agree with the OP.
This PLing business is complete garbage. I can't tell you how much gil I turned down in FFXI from people who desperately begged my WHM to PL them. I will have no hand in creating high level noobs who don't know how to play their class. And people who insisted on bringing their high level PL friends to parties because it became the new standard, it infuriated me. It was insulting. If they didn't leave, I did.
I don't want to see this become a repeat of FFXI. If we can't have the good things from that game, I certainly don't want the bad points.
Yoshi-P, if you're really doing this to help people play with their friends, why don't you implement FFXI's level sync? IMO, PLing is just a form of cheating and it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth that the people creating this game advocate it.
At this point, it feels like the game devs are at a loss of how to implement meaningful content and are just trying to expedite the leveling process to make it go by in a forgetful blur. It's become more empty than ever. I'm afraid this game is taking two steps forward, one step back.

I've read way too many pages to respond any more thoroughly....
oh yeah the pl'ing noobs
there a set of them on my server they have almost all lv50's and never even played the game lol. one day they tried in a grind party i was in and were clueless we were lv35-37 party fighting raptors lv40ish in iron lake everytime they link the 3 ran away and de-aggroed the mobs so now we have hate completly screwed up hate since now the raptor come back and aggro a different person making matters worse and bitched the raptors were to high and nagged till they decided to leave with out saying anything. one thing about a party you runaway you die or get other killed how hard is it to run to the DD's & tanks to WS or taunt/provoke it off you?
a regular gind party 30+ is way faster than any PL party if the people have a clue of what a healer does and when to attack the mobs. and yeah there mages who will nuke before before they even bother healing you then cry this party sucks.
i managed to get THM from 39-50 in a few of hours, and LNC from 41-49 in no time this weekend REASON no PL'ing just great people who wanted XP and knew what was going on, check the lodestone profile.
SQUARE ENIX needs to abolish the ablity to attack monster outside the party and add aliances from ffxi if you need more people or even bring back 15 man partys.
you are correct on part of your post.oh yeah the pl'ing noobs

yes, powerleveling creates the exact type of rejects that have no clue of what they are doing. i just kick them from my party and blacklist them. they are not worth my time.
powerleveling is still more effective than grind parties though even 40+. it is faster sp and they can still sit on their stupid chocobo and not lift a finger all the way til 50.
the problem isn't that it is available to me. the problem with powerleveling is that is is so much more effective sp all the way til cap that it defeats the purpose of getting a grind party together. it's getting to where it's hard to even farm tapers or coffers and not look up and realize half a party has switched to a 40 class and is standing around and making you do all the work for them.

i have to disagree i been in normal grind partys chaining #8 with 1900+ xp never seen that in a PL pt.powerleveling is still more effective than grind parties though even 40+. it is faster sp and they can still sit on their stupid chocobo and not lift a finger all the way til 50.
