Please spread the word: you are INVINCIBLE after accepting a non-LB raise.

Fellow players: when you accept a normal raise (Raise, Resurrection, Ascend, Verraise), there is an invincibility period of a few seconds during which AoE damage will not affect you. The caveat is that IF YOU MOVE (and I believe, if you even take any action) YOU WILL LOSE THE INVINCIBILITY. Please, for the love of god, when you take a raise, stay the **** still for a few seconds to give the healer time to top you off. If you don't and you raise into an AoE that gibs you, then you are at the mercy of whether the healer is willing and able to hardcast raise you if swiftcast is down.

Square Enix: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add a buff icon that indicates resurrection invulnerability. There is nothing in game that teaches players about this crucial mechanic. Thank you.

EDIT: The next post clarified the condition to retain the invulnerability:

Be aware that even if you don't take damage, you might still get debuffs associated with the damage. Getting 5 vuln up stacks raising into a load of stacked splats in O6S is no bueno.
I tried looking for an official answer as to what removes the invulnerability, but couldn't find any; I had to go by my own experience which is neither moving nor taking action. Thanks IttyBitty for clarifying.

It doesn't help that it's a rather common occurrence in the 24 man content to never get a single followup heal after a Res. I've been ressed before and I never got any heals or even protect after and just died 10 seconds later.

A lot of the time I see that happen, it's either a SMN or RDM that ressed the person. While the RDM could heal them, 99% of the time, right after the GCD finishes from the raise, the RDM is right back into DPSing(at least, I know I am right away since most of the time the person being ressed takes a bit too long to get back up...so don't want to stop DPSing longer than that one raise).

This mechanic really is too hidden for its importance, since I regularly see even people who raid Sigmascape savage getting insta-gibbed after a rez because they decided to start attacking while an AoE was coming.

I would be in support of anything that raises awareness of this property. I've had so many times where a player accepts a res in a place like Rabanastre when Quake IV or Fire IV is incoming, proceed to use a skill on the boss immediately, and get vaporized by the aoe. I like the suggestion of a buff showing that the invincibility is active. That would clearly show players what does and doesn't work when they first revive.

    I know right.
Then they died just right after their raise and blame us because we weren't fast enough to heal them.
Like we could react in less than a sec when they raise at the exact same moment an aoe pop.

I sign. More should people should be aware of that.

speed up the BGM after you raise, like they do in Super Mario when he gets the invincibility star.

Players have 60 seconds to accept that raise. If they die because because they got up into mechanics rather than wait till after. it's there own fault as far as I'm concerned.

Especially in things like hasmahl. Where players accept a raise that puts them on the wrong half of the arena or under a falling pillar... wait for the bloody mechanic before you press yes

It would help to put an invincibility icon on players to let them know they won't take dmg as long as they don't take actions (except movement) for the next ten secs.

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
