Close minded? No. It's called having almost 40 years of experience in gaming and story telling, and real life thrown in for good measures. Short of a massive world-wide tempering, what you are advocating cannot happen without completely breaking the consistency of the world we've gotten for almost 500 quests.

And i've done every single class quest, every single story quest, and about 90% of the sidequests in the game...

As has been stated so many times already. The people know us. We're considered prodigies in every guild, every City State leader and Government, and every Grand Company knows us, We're friends with factions in every single beast tribe practically, We're even friends with those in the neutral cities who dont pick sides. Every single outpost has been helped by us in every menial task you can imagine, and all Cid has to do, is tell everyone, that we're the original Warriors of Light from 5 years past, to make your scenario even less probable, than it already was.

You can wave your gametime and "experience" around all you like, but saying that something cannot be done because you haven't seen the possibility isn't very open minded.
I'm not here to argue or compare who's is bigger. I have no idea who you are, whether you're lying or not or how you like to enjoy a story. I'm not here to pick fights.

I think the idea is worth developing, and if you don't , you really don't have to read anymore. I'm certainly not on the writing team.

Many things were left out of that. Many people just buy the story line skip potion and never see it. We have under gone many, many other trials since then. There is a reason why i and so many challenge this train of thought. It falls flat, makes no sense and is a false, unneeded edge to our character. You are playing the game, full knowing what you as the character is, and what it is you are doing and why you do it. What those asking are asking for, the question of what if people saw you in a negative light has already been addressed. If you skipped it that's no fault of the content writers.

Just because we're exploring other possibilities doesn't mean we're discrediting anything that has been done. It's an open book to which the end will likely never be written.

Who said I skipped anything. I've been there since 1.0 and continue to enjoy the story as it unfolds.

It's a little distressing that people have such strong reactions to someone exploring storylines.

Just because you've explored one aspect of a story doesn't mean that can never come into play again.

I went through ARR and HW with 5 different characters, finished SB with 2, and am halfway through SB with 2 others. The only time I skipped scenes was on the 5th character.
