I appreciate this is hardly a great solution, but if you're set on that plot, and can afford it, buy a small plot somewhere else and relocate to the one you want.

The one you want must have been owned by someone else who relocated (or demolished) to reset the timer. There's plenty of new plots in the new wards that will be available for purchase right now.

Yea, it's kind of take what you can get over here. I actually did log out in front of the one I wanted but when I logged in this morning someone had taken it.

Yup, same. I got the lobby server error when I tried to log in this morning, had to log in again, and got stuck in a 15min queue. Ah, well. Just gotta wait for them to add more wards.
