The party finder gives more information about the group before entering it. Minimum item level, how full the party is, what jobs they already have, how many have cleared it, whether it's a partial static, what strategy is being used etc. This kind of information is useful when the content cannot likely be completed blindly with strangers.

I'd still greatly prefer it if they would let the weapons drop strait up in the EX version and have a token item get rewarded for completing normal mode. That way if someone shows up late to the "boss rush" club because they had the misfortune of returning mid patch cycle they don't get left in the dust.
Or just happened to be a new player who can't help that they started so late in the game's life.

I honestly didn't even know there was a raid finder, and I've been around for years. If raiders scorn it, and we casuals don't even notice it, how's it ever gonna be useful?

Honestly all the fights in this game are quite scripted and there's usually only one or two strategies commonly used for any given fight. The problem is the widespread mindset of "it's a game so I don't have to try, tryhards will pick up the slack" when people go into content. In ex fights you may be able to carry one or two players but what happens when those that got carried get matched together in a single party? Failure. The reason JP datacenters can effectively raid finder is because that mindset doesn't exist as strongly as it does on NA/EU and is the number one reason why we'll never be able to efficiently use raid finder.

I suspect your not quite paying attention.

And honestly..I knew about the tool long before you thought to mention it...and still found it pointless/useless. maybe it had its uses before..but party finder is far too efficient to not use it. Hell even duty finder will do the job within 15 mins or less for me.

If the majority don't use the tool...why should i switch? Answer me that. ;P

Oh and before you bring up your "Raid Completed" argument.... people get carried...all the time....doesn't mean they are qualified to do the raid.

So your argument isn't going to hold much weight.
Was just reading through when I caught this. What a truly patronising answer! And in truth I think it's you that doesn't get it. Which is the true irony of it.

The difference between Japanese servers and the west are quite shocking though. From always helping new players in the earlier story quests and waiting for cutscenes without being forced to - to working together as one rather intending to be carried or just thinking about yourself. All is points to is a pretty selfish western society, feel pretty ashamed. I ran into one guy on the novice network who told me to move to Japan then if I wanted to work more as a team with other people. And that pretty much summed it up.

Your screenshot partly answers your own question.

For the other part, just try and queue something like Titan EX or Ramuh EX nowadays in DF, and let me know how that goes. That's basically how anything in RF goes.

It's a useless DF offshoot that puts unprepared randoms into hardcore raids. It doesn't take a genius to figure out the likely result.

    The second one.

Duping jobs shouldn't be a problem.
When the devs prioclaim everything is balanced and you can play what ever you want then the game needs to represent that freedom.

It really shouldn't matter if 3 of your dps want to be Monks. Or both your tanks want to be Warriors.

I remembered the time using raid finder during patch 3.4 for Sophia Extreme and getting 99 Goddess totems for one character (also got all the Sophia EX weapons before POTD floors 51-200 came out), and also got the Sophic Lanner for 2 characters before patch 3.5 came out.

The "Duty Complete" feature and the way Sophia Extreme battle functioned during the patch benefited a tank main like myself. This was before Cross-Server party finder of course.

    Wonderful times for me indeed.
