Why dont you use RAID FINDER?

Honestly, I never understood its unpopularity.

Party Finder is you grouping up with people you probably don't know. Raid Finder is the same. Most PFs I join don't have an intense discussion of how we're going about the fight beforehand, it's simply gathering people and queuing.

So maybe you want to form a farm group, so it'll be the same group for multiple runs. Chances are you'll still end up with parties that aren't really well suited to farm and will end up going through members or joining different PFs. The amount of time wasted would be about the same if you could reliably queue in the RF. Yes, when you do find that good group, it's natural to want to stick with them. But how many times do they crumble after just a few runs anyway?

But what I *really* don't understand is people who haven't cleared not wanting to queue for practice. This is almost entirely dead beyond the first couple days. There should be no reason the RF is inadequate for this since you're just trying to learn the fight, not necessarily clear it. Yet that too gets relegated to the PF.

Bottom line: People are too confident with the PF's efficiency, and the RF could be a much more viable way of doing content if more people utilized it.

I don't use it because 1: No one else does, and 2: Why use it when you can use cross server PF instead?

I stopped using both raid and duty finder for primals after Sephirot was introduced. Also when I just stopped farming primals period.
A: the whistle drop rates are so horrible I figured its a waste of time collecting them all for a mount I will use maybe a week.
B: So many pts were complete fails and would abandon after 2 wipes that it was more frustrating than not doing them at all.
I have yet to do an ex trial in SB.

You simply never know what your going to get and sometimes its better when you realize that its just not worth doing at all.

Another reason for PF>RF, is the ability to weed out those who were carried and know nothing of the fight. If you get them in PF, get out, pick up a replacement, go straight back in. RF, queue for ages to get back in, and more likely to get another team full of them.

I thought it was really useful for getting to know a fight before committing to a clear group. For whatever reason, I'm super intimidated to jump into a PF group without some idea of what I'm doing. Even if it's a learning party.

Once a fight is cleared though, I probably wouldn't use it either. The only reason to do it at that point is to farm, and it's far more efficient to join a farming PF where you can just bang it out.

Ya, back in Sophia EX I used it all the time for quick queues, and plus ppl usually did better there than "farm PTs".

But then come Zervan EX (or how ever spelled) no one used the darn thing.

I tried to use it for lakshmi and susano, but after 4 hours i gave up. (This was a bit later on, after i cleared it, and wanted my alt to get stuff)

You might end up with stacked jobs that kills/makes it harder to do the Tank LB3 strat which is a widely accepted strat right now on NA/EU for Byakko.

Party comp was one of the reasons barely anyone used it for Zurvan EX either. (Most popular party comp for Zurvan EX was 1 tank in NA/EU, RF forces 2)

Preferred comps usually end up meta. (1 Tank Skip Soar, Tank LB3 2nd tiger) That's just how it goes. Do you technically need it? Nah. But if it increases the success rate why wouldn't you use it? Most of the farms I see are LB3 2nd tiger/no stack classes just like most of the Zurvan EX farms I saw when he was current were 1 tank only. Doesn't mean you can't kill it with a different comp (my first clear was no tank LB3 for Byakko before people even knew you could cheese it), that's not the point but if a large percentage of the population decides x strat is easiest, they will follow that one and if RF indirectly makes that strat harder the chance of them using RF goes down.
