The possibility of ME losing MY progress because of another player's actions is not the kind of game I like to play, full stop. This isn't a competitive sector of FFXIV, either.

Then I suggest you to move to another game where everything is instanced. No matter the game/content you do, there is always the possibility of anyone trolling their way no matter what. This sort of thing has been happening for years in any multi-player game. MMO or not.
