Not in the least. It's not like we were dying in A5S and A6S because of our gear, we were dying because failing mechanics caused party-wide instant deaths. The more time you spend outside of Savage/in progression, the more time that passes to where both the normal and Savage raid gear lose relevance/appeal due to Tomestone gear and lockouts. The normal mode raid gear would help slightly due to increased VIT versus gear in the previous tier, but it's a matter of efficiency I suppose.

If you aren't having fun, why are you playing the game?
I increased my fun by removing things I found distasteful (normal mode + alliance raid grinding)

I played FFXI for 2 years and was heavily involved with endgame there, so I'm pretty resilient. I'm just always at odds with the carrots at the end of XIV's various sticks for reasons I can't quite place sometimes.

As soon as something ceases to relax me at the end of the day, I drop it. I might come back to it later but in the end if I'm paying money for it and it's not actually fun 95% of the time? No thanks.

That and friends are a big part of it for me. Hope your raid groups work out their kinks.

Why do I need to burn 8+ hours of my playtime when someone else gets the same reward in 10 minutes?
Make it the same as savage, or up the drop rate on high demand items (*cough* bolts *cough).
You are completely right about RNG and I hate it badly!...

Normal raids should have the same loot system from Savage, gearing up in this game is pretty retarded in that by the time SE removes the weekly loot restrictions on gear it becomes obsolete because now everyone will focus on the new stuff leaving the previous content hard to access!...

Leave Savage to the ones that enjoy enslaving themselves with it but give us the same alternative for the Normal version of the same raid!...

So RNG behind worse gear is kinda... weird.
Better but significantly more expensive for those unwilling to craft gear themselves. That's the trade off. Do you want time gated gear or are you willing to pay exceptionally high prices for both the gear and subsequent materia to overmeld it?

... that is an enormous leap. Monster Hunter encounters have vastly higher repeat appeal than spamming normal mode. Furthermore, they are entirely different games. Action combat as a whole has far greater longevity due to its inherent unpredictability.

Personally if instead of rolling on equipment parts, we just automatically got them, and then they increased how many parts we need, that'd be a fairer system.

It would still require doing more than just a few runs because of the increase in items needed, but it would mean you don't get a person who gets their Bracelet (bolt x1) after 1 run while another person is unlucky in RNG to have to wait for 10+ runs. Instead, if they made it an auto-drop that required 5 items, then both players would get it after running it 5 times. Much fairer.

It's not the grind that's a problem, it's the lack of certainty and plannability.

*cough* just remember Atma farming. The grind wasn't the problem, it's that some people would get theirs within 15 minutes while others would farm for hours and still never see their atma drop. If it had been a guaranteed drop, but the quantity to bring in was increased, it would have been much more accepted and you'd see a lot less people suffer FATE PTSD by association.

Personally I much prefer a time based grind that is based on how many times I run it, rather than one that is based on the RNG that I win the roll (or that something actually drops!), especially when pugs are involved as not everyone has statics and honestly the game shouldn't need for us to have to make statics to get a fair chance at loot.

I find it similar in grit and grind. Once I know a monsters patterns it's mainly routine to kill them, after that it's just a looong game of "shining scale or nada" for 10-50 iterations.

One of my friends has that issue...but he has one character that's all the caster classes(NIN included in there) and the other is all physical classes. He mostly gets caster gear drops on his physical character.

It actually has less stats to account for materia melding. The only reason crafted gear is better is because you can meld VIT, in the case of accessories, and more off-stats in the case of Direct Hit in regards to healers and tanks.

I don't think RNG needs to be gone from loot. I do think they need to icorperate a system where loot for the jobs in the party have a higher chance to drop that ones not in the part. I think i've done Byakko on MNK about 31 times now and still haven't seen the MNK weapon drop. I also think with so many jobs in the game they need to increase how much loot drops. Like maybe bump it up to two weapons from primals and so on and so forth.
