Personally if instead of rolling on equipment parts, we just automatically got them, and then they increased how many parts we need, that'd be a fairer system.

It would still require doing more than just a few runs because of the increase in items needed, but it would mean you don't get a person who gets their Bracelet (bolt x1) after 1 run while another person is unlucky in RNG to have to wait for 10+ runs. Instead, if they made it an auto-drop that required 5 items, then both players would get it after running it 5 times. Much fairer.

It's not the grind that's a problem, it's the lack of certainty and plannability.

*cough* just remember Atma farming. The grind wasn't the problem, it's that some people would get theirs within 15 minutes while others would farm for hours and still never see their atma drop. If it had been a guaranteed drop, but the quantity to bring in was increased, it would have been much more accepted and you'd see a lot less people suffer FATE PTSD by association.

Personally I much prefer a time based grind that is based on how many times I run it, rather than one that is based on the RNG that I win the roll (or that something actually drops!), especially when pugs are involved as not everyone has statics and honestly the game shouldn't need for us to have to make statics to get a fair chance at loot.

One of my friends has that issue...but he has one character that's all the caster classes(NIN included in there) and the other is all physical classes. He mostly gets caster gear drops on his physical character.

I don't think RNG needs to be gone from loot. I do think they need to icorperate a system where loot for the jobs in the party have a higher chance to drop that ones not in the part. I think i've done Byakko on MNK about 31 times now and still haven't seen the MNK weapon drop. I also think with so many jobs in the game they need to increase how much loot drops. Like maybe bump it up to two weapons from primals and so on and so forth.

I have to disagree re: crafted vs OxN gear.
Some items have garbage secondary stats (e.g. no crit on bard, no tenacity on tank, etc). So, a mix of the two is required for optimal 350 gear.

RNG is RNG, always has been, always is, and always will be. Some get along fine with RNG, but others, like myself, are on quite the opposing terms. However, regardless of where you stand with RNG it is always necessary because it makes the game give you goals instead of something you do once and are done with it. Think about how any RPG would go if everything happened first try. There would be absolutely no chance of not getting what you are after and that would take away a ton of gameplay time. Sure farming can get tedious, especially when RNG doesn't cooperate, but that doesn't mean it should be removed just because things aren't going your way.

Also, this is coming from a guy that has been using two airships to try to unlock sector 24 for weeks now with no luck. Both are maxed out in stats too, and they go to and come back from sector 21 every 2 days or so. The failures of discovering the sector make me question whether or not it really unlocks that way, but testimony online says it does so I know it's all RNG, and I just have to keep trying until I get it. I'm not gonna ask SE to remove RNG from discovering sectors just because of how long it's taking.

So you are using level 1 hull, level 1 sail, 45 forecastle/ 45 aftercastle, or 50/35...
I do not recommend this, boost sail, lower after castle to 25
Proposal, try level 1 hull, level 15 sail, level 50 fore/ level 25 after

there is no such thing as "max stats" (also make sure your doing 21 for 24)

for the topic, what you do is only enter the last one, currently sigma 4 normal, roll on everything and be done with it. No reason to stress over gear being outdated in 3-6 months. Another approach would go and do the current one only (the weekly limit) roll on everything and be done with it. Once they lift the weekly limit for catch up? just run the 4th one for weapon, the crystalloid

The entire purpose behind RNG is to keep queues alive. SE already provides an alternative with crafted gear for those who don't want to deal with randomness. You're basically asking to have all the benefits but give back nothing.
Idea gets defeated when people realise it is worthless to go after 1 specific gear.

Something the overwhelming majority won't. Look at crafted gear. It's useless for non-raiders yet people like the higher ilevel.

Shafts I have always found kinda dumb. The Chest piece gives the same stat totals as Legs but takes twice as long for... reasons?

If they remove randomness from the rolls, itll just be run 10x more. theres either RNG on rolls, RNG on drop, or extended grind.
