Anyone who seriously played FFVI knows a phoenix down is the best way to handle the Phantom Train.

If you were a 'true fan' you wouldn't be bothered by the lack of a dumb reference to the suplex thing since simply having the Phantom Train show up in the first place is what most people who enjoyed FF6 wanted to see. It's just a case of people being ungrateful.
