Ifrit you fight every 15 minutes, and can be fought a lot of times in one night, this makes the content stale in a short time. I know by Nov., people were getting sick of Ifrit. If you are making content based around one fight, you have to make it last. People get sick of doing the same fight over and over unless they know there is something to gain, you have to keep people in that state of mind till the next patch. Game does not need to go into easy mode.
If you think shared loot lists make a game easy mode, then you need a slap in the face from EQ1/FFXI. A personal loot currency grind makes it a simple matter of you alone killing ifrit X times. How long will that extend the life of content?

May as well just LFG shout in Ul'dah one weekend do it your 30 times or whatever, and be done with it.

A shared loot list (like every decent MMO ever made has had) gives groups and linkshells a shared goal to work for. They will continue to do that content until every one of their members has the gear they need/want, and can prioritize who gets what first amongst themselves in a fair and equitable way.

Personal loot lists, and currency grinds are a complete joke. They are by far the worst itemization systems to ever appear in MMO's.
