    Tackle Mastery we should know we’re stuck with until at least 5.0. They really are stubborn when it comes to monk.

    White Mages complained before Stormblood launched, and they fixed it before the expansion. Monks complained, and we got “well.... see how it plays in savage” and “your numbers are fine...”

    mnk just might have gotten too much love? sure, mnk needs to pull a bit ahead of nin ..., and needed a tackle- mastery revamp... , but dps-wise mnk was already competing with Sam numbers (like Mr. Happy noted), now it just might pull right up too sam if not overtake,.. with the mnk utilities?

    mnk will become the new smn.. (or/ and new nin)?

    Hardly. We can't even say for certain how this affected Monk's DPS because it's far too early, but to say that Monk's DPS is fine was all but tied with Dragoon and was behind Machinist in terms of numbers personal numbers. It most certainly was not competing with Samurai either, it was behind it by about 5% or so. Mr. Happy is wrong.

    And even ignoring DPS, most of these changes do nothing to address the long term problems with the class such as its enormous suite of overly situational actions or the bigger issue, the Job just feeling terrible to play because of Riddle of Fire's slow.

    If you look at this history of monk complaints, you'll see that no one was complaining about the amount of damage that monks do, but it's entirely that monks still have a glut of useless skills after the expansion, we had even more situational skills added, and completely useless traits. We also complained that the buffs added generally are finicky to get to work (Fists of Earth) or feel like a nerf to use (Fists of Fire). Add to that we're the only job in the game not to get a new attack this expansion, and that we have lingering complains still hanging around since 2.0 and you can understand why so many are frustrated.

    Most of us just want the job to be enjoyable and playable when it comes to various mechanics. If you watch, for example, the boss fight with Old One in Forgotten City of Skalla, you can see how the entire fight was designed without the limitations of this job in mind as it's pretty much a guarantee you'll lose your stacks of greased lightning twice in the fight with nothing you can do about it.

    I don't think this will make monk fun to play again. Reducing PB recast time (hopefully by at least a minute) is the only thing here that helps with that.

    So is Riddle of Wind going to be something like ensuring all buffs and debuffs are up, getting into raptor form then--

    1) Tornado Kick.
    2) Fists of Wind
    3) Tackle - GL1
    4) Tackle - GL2
    5) Fists of Fire
    6) Snap Punch - GL3

    Every 30 seconds?

    Too many oGCDs, I feel. Probably have to weave GCDs in there, though I am sure it will be mathed out.

    Riddle of Wind is only the stun-less second half following Wind Tackle, not including Wind Tackle itself. At best you'd be returning only a single stack by oGCD per 30s. It'd more likely be yet another unreliable means of resetting GL just before or after a jump, where you'd otherwise lose it, unless TK can pay off 4 GCDs without GL3.

    If they wanted this change to help reset GL before a jump they've woefully missed the mark, because;

    What happens if Shoulder Tackle is on CD before the boss jumps?
    If the GL stack is tied to the second tackle then again, that means we have to spam both tackles. Not a huge worry but not exactly as easy or graceful as clicking Enochian or BOTD...

    Sigh. They just can't admit Tackle Mastery was a shitshow, eh.
