You pay money monthly to access the game. Servers, game support, included patch updates and events. You seem to be under the impression that if the items weren't on the cash shop we'd have them ingame for free.

We pay a monthly fee for all of this, these things are standard in MMO's now, not just FFXIV but in most sub based ones, SE doesn't even do it well in compared to others. Games used to have unlocks of extra characters, skins, gear, levels, etc via in game, they now are mostly parted out in the way of DLC's, the gaming industry has changed way too much for the worse since even 5-10 years ago.
Let's not go deeper into freemium territory, unless of course they plan on removing subs, at which point the game will be dead right fast. Subs are required to keep the content flowing not just the servers and overhead.
Keeping to the person you first quoted, who had quoted part of the OP talking about selling reskins of tank gear that can be used on casters.
Yes, they would still be free in-game, since they already are. All they'd have to do is allow more jobs to equip them, which isn't some huge development thing (although it will require a patch to apply the change to the server).
That set would be there, sure. Even the recolor possibly. but other things: mounts, eddas dress, the far eastern dress. All of those likely would never have seen the light of day. I'm speaking of the Cash Shop only items there.Keeping to the person you first quoted, who had quoted part of the OP talking about selling reskins of tank gear that can be used on casters.

That's an odd take. Making it "easy" in the sense of presenting why it would benefit them to implement your idea would make it more likely they would. If you just say "I want this.. make it happen somehow" it's much less likely to catch someone's eye and even less likely to be presented to someone who can make decisions. I'm not sure how making it harder improves the end result.

I'm aware that a good amount of mogstation items were developed specifically to be sold for real money, but those are unrelated to the thread. This is about people disagreeing with the OP going as far as wanting to pay for a version of gear from one role, that can be glamoured onto a different role's gear.
I was speaking to the general aversion to ANY cash shop item, but as you say we shall stay relevant to the OP. Dropped and conceded.I'm aware that a good amount of mogstation items were developed specifically to be sold for real money, but those are unrelated to the thread.
