While i can see why normal mode can spoil savage for some players, how many are they to jump blindly into a high difficulty mode without knowing anything of it ? 0,5.% at best ?

Three days after something is released, 80% of the playerbase expect you to have watch/read a guide about it beforehand to not loose their precious time, hence all the players ragequitting after only one or two wipes, shouting "OMG NO ONE KNOW THE MECHANICS !!!". When i see that the other day, some players didn't even know what a spread marker was in Omega 4 normal thus making someone throwing a tantrum at them, how many people would feel pissed off by seeing total noobs going directly into savage, undergeared because by skipping normal mode they wouldn't even know where to get decent stuff, without even knowing what a stack marker is ? At least 50% of the playerbase ?

Of course if you are in a static party, always playing with the same players, you wouldn't care about it, that making normal mode skippable is gonna make way more drama and rage than that we already have now in random parties. But for my part i sure dont want to see even more people losing their mind after only two wipes. I would prefer to have savage having totally different bosses than normal mode, that way you will not be spoiled, AND we could hope to have players knowing the basics before trying something who might be otherwise way too hard for them.

THATS FOUR ENTIRE PLAYERS THAT ARE NEEDED TO CLEAR NORMAL, meaning the other 4 can be as terrible as they want and get carrieed, AND HAVE ACCESS TO SAVAGE. Clearing normal mode is NOT a gate, it is NOT an indication of skill. As to your points...if a player knows how to unlock savage, chances are they know how to unlock normal. im also unsure about you, but ive had terrible players joining savage parties ive been in, ykno what we did? we kicked them. simple as that, kick and look again...wow, so hard.

Normal is not a gate, please get it through your head people, making normal required for savage changes literally (literally) nothing. Crafted gear is a thing, as is an ilvl restriction in PF that you can set so you wont get people joning ur savage parties with lvl 68 gear.

Its puzzling how many people think more bad players will join savage, because there wont be anymore bad players than there already are, because it takes less than a full day to get carried through normal omega.

Does every raider have access to FC which can craft 88 pieces for 8 people, making weekly food? Gathering and making those itself take time. It's only now that the weekly lockout is lifted. Isn't progression a thing? edit: and speaking of progression, it's already mentioned, how do the bad players can improve if the good players go straight to savage?

I don't see the harm in letting raiders skip normal mode so long as normal mode continues to exist for people that want the story but not the challenge of raiding.

What if the raid questline unlocked both normal and Savage and clearing either version of the floors was valid for continuing the story?

(Edit: Of course if you cleared normal you would only unlock the normal version of the next floor. It would still follow the normal rules of Savage progression, you would just have the option of doing the questline with the Savage floors to avoid spoilers from normal).

I think both options should exist. Meaning if you only care about the story or don't think you're ready for Savage, you can do normal and get rewarded for it (though the gear wouldn't be as good or it takes more grinding), then when you're ready you can move on to Savage. If you want the story but also want the harder content, then Savage should be unlockable from the beginning for you.

I came into this thread to disagree but then I though to myself "why do I not much myself to raid?". Then I realized that yeah, it has everything to do with the fact that the Savage mode really isn't anything story related.

Skip for what? Spoilers? You do realize Savage content usually gets released after the Normal versions right? You'll have hub chat, forums, reddit, FCs, Discord, etc. EVERYTHING to spoil it for you. Also as it's been mentioned before, the Savage versions are just retellings of YOUR battles of the Normal versions embellished for a better tale. What's to embellish if your little WoL doesn't go out there and actually saves the world?

I comprehend just fine, I was just saying why yes spoilers or whatever but at the end what would be the point, but it's no point in arguing or insulting just agree to disagree

I do realize that and that's also why I don't raid in games that have different levels of difficulty for their raids. Different strokes for different folks and believe it or not, not everyone play for loot.

Well if you're that good of a savage player then how about you just clear the normal mode with your eyes closed the entire time? Aka completely blind runs XD That way it wont spoiler you anything :P

Also your point about the gear in there being outrated by crafted gear doesnt mean anything.
    1. Not everyone has a good crafter on that level or in theire friendlist.
    2. The crafted gear on same level comes out several patches after the raidpatch
