I know this thread is long and full of attitude, but are we really going with that line, now?

This is Final Fantasy. Lore always in first place.

A fine ideal, but no. This is an MMORPG. Playability always in first place.

That isn't to say that the lore doesn't or can't enrich the experience, but the developers' first concern will always be "Is this fun for players?" since that question goes hand-in-hand with "Are people eager to pay for this?" Players subscribe to play a game they enjoy, not to tithe to the shrine of FF lore.

All that being said, I'm still on the nope wagon as far as BLM raise goes. I can imagine at least a few viable ways to introduce it (from a lore perspective) without trying very hard, but I just don't want it.
