Seems they have some issues as of late.
Are you under Windows10 too? How did you "uninstall" the DirectX?
If you used the Restore Point method, sadly that can't be done for me, it will just remove the last Windows Update and reinstall it again the next time I update my system (I tried it already) giving the same error again.
I'm using the regular version of the game, no steam attached, I've been reading that the game behaves badly with overlays so I tried to stay away from Steam (also, I bought the game during a SE discount).

Honestly, I tried everything and with FFXIV being the only game on my PC facing this issue, makes me even more confused.

Game mode is off! Same result, I can't play in DirectX11 as I've been doing before this WindowsUpdate.

Windows 10 Pro 64bit. Not sure what to tell you then. Other choice is to revert to Direct X 9 manually and re updated to 11. The only other thing I can think of is if your driver and settings are clashing with the system after the update or your port might be a bit damaged or worn. Do you use HDMI or Display port? I had a few crashes do to direct X on HDMI, I switched to Display port and it just happened to me with that "A fatal DirectX error has occurred (10000000)". After I did the update again works fine. You could try that as well.

Uhm, but there is no way to "revert" DirectX on Windows 10, manually... unless you recently updated them and then you used a Restoration Point to go back (which again, I can't use, or the next time W10 updates, I will face the same error) there is no other way to manually untinstall them, DirectX 12 comes together as a package with Windows10 and it includesall the previous DirectX versions already, you don't install them separately, nor you can uninstall them or touch them at all.
If anything is damaged, you run the WebInstaller that should detect any DX issue and repair them, but I have done this first thing and no errors were detected.
I don't understand how you managed to do this under Windows10, unless you used the Restore Point method yourself. :/

About the ports, I tried for the sake of it, but of course it made no difference, it would make no sense, if the hardware was damaged then it would give the same error for every other application, not only for FFXIV... same with drivers, I tried my old ones first, and then the latest, both made no difference, and again only for FFXIV... every other game I have runs with no issues, and they have heavier performance requirements.

I am also getting very similar errors when attempting to exit the client. Even if I have only just logged on from the updater/launcher the errors occur.

Just a few days ago, I completely reinstalled everything on my laptop, starting with a clean install (with all previous partitions removed from the devices to start the install of Windows 10 version 1709). The error had not occurred prior to the reinstall, but it has occurred every time I exit the client since the install under specific conditions:

    1. The client is running the game Full Screen.

    2. The client is running the game with DirectX 11.

If I turn off the DirectX 11 switch in the updater/launcher prior to selecting the Play button, the error does not occur.

If I leave the DirectX 11 switch turned on, but change the System configuration over to Windowed mode before selecting Exit, the error does not occur.

When the error occurs, it always occurs twice... the second time it is still trying to exit the client software in reaction to the first time.

After the second error (once I click the OK button), the next message is that "Final Fantasy XIV ... has stopped working". There is a small delay before this final message, but it does come up.... after clicking the button to close the program, I am returned to the Desktop.

I have also done a similar complete reinstall starting with a clean install of Windows 10 Version 1709 on another PC I have (A Desktop tower type instead of a laptop).. and the error does not occur on that machine. I have no clue on why I am getting differing results.

Hello! Thank you for playing Final Fantasy XIV!

We apologize for any inconvenience you may be experiencing. The crashing of Direct X may be caused by a variety of issue. We would suggest lowering the graphic settings in game, as the intense graphics in dungeons can cause the crashing. We also suggest that the graphics card are using the latest drivers for the card. Should you be using Direct X 11 and experiencing the issue, we would suggest reverting back to Direct X 9 to see if the issue still persists.

Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
Please let us know if your issue gets resolved and what resolved it, So we can further assist other players.

Hello! Thank you for playing Final Fantasy XIV!

The issue you are describing is most associated with interference with the game data. Most of the time, it results from certain security/privacy changes on Internet Explorer. Other times it occurs when an application that is running in the background is causing interference, such as Anti-virus software, firewalls, media players, web browsers, etc.

Please make sure all background applications (including anti-virus programs such as Norton, Kaspersky, Windows Defender, etc.) have been disabled and/or closed to minimize game interference.

Ensure that the latest version of Internet Explorer is installed on your PC (even if you don't use Internet Explorer), please do not use Edge as that is a different internet platform. Once Internet Explorer is up-to-date, please open the IE browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED.
    [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    Please RESTART your PC now.
Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

If the suggestions provided above do not resolve the issue, then there is a communication error.
Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

*You may learn how to do this by visiting http://www.portforward.com/
Find your specific router's brand and model number from the 'List of Routers' and you will be provided a step-by-step guide on how to access these port settings.
Otherwise, your ISP may forward these ports for you.*

If you have properly configured your router, and you are still experiencing these issues, our next suggestion is to bypass the router, and connect your computer directly to your modem. Please ensure that you power down both the modem and the computer for at least five minutes before attempting to connect to FINAL FANTASY XIV.

If you continue to receive these same errors when you are connected directly to the modem, then the problem lies with your ISP. We would recommend contacting them and advising them that one or more of the ports previously provided to you are being blocked or filtered, and that you do need access on these ports.

Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
Please let us know if your issue gets resolved and what resolved it, So we can further assist other players.

Well I thought I had a fix.. but it turns out when I tested it, the DirectX 11 switch had been left off, and I have already noted above that the problem doesn't occur in that situation..... when I turned it back on, the problem returned.

So if you read this post prior to my having re-edited it, I'm sorry... It didn't fix the problem.
