    Same here. Two pop-up windows stating the errors would show up, then a Windows pop up would try to troubleshoot it, but then it would fail, forcing me to just click the 'Close Program' button.

    Because it's not hindering me from playing the game, I didn't bother trying to reinstall the game and see if that would fix it. Still, it's pretty annoying.

    Last night I reinstalled and the problem persists, so don't bother doing that. I hope we can get a solution.

    I am also getting very similar errors when attempting to exit the client. Even if I have only just logged on from the updater/launcher the errors occur.

    Just a few days ago, I completely reinstalled everything on my laptop, starting with a clean install (with all previous partitions removed from the devices to start the install of Windows 10 version 1709). The error had not occurred prior to the reinstall, but it has occurred every time I exit the client since the install under specific conditions:

    1. The client is running the game Full Screen.

    2. The client is running the game with DirectX 11.

    If I turn off the DirectX 11 switch in the updater/launcher prior to selecting the Play button, the error does not occur.

    If I leave the DirectX 11 switch turned on, but change the System configuration over to Windowed mode before selecting Exit, the error does not occur.

    When the error occurs, it always occurs twice... the second time it is still trying to exit the client software in reaction to the first time.

    After the second error (once I click the OK button), the next message is that "Final Fantasy XIV ... has stopped working". There is a small delay before this final message, but it does come up.... after clicking the button to close the program, I am returned to the Desktop.

    I have also done a similar complete reinstall starting with a clean install of Windows 10 Version 1709 on another PC I have (A Desktop tower type instead of a laptop).. and the error does not occur on that machine. I have no clue on why I am getting differing results.

    "A fatal DirectX error has occurred (10000000)"

    Hi there, this is my first post here on the forums and sadly not for a nice reason.

    Following Windows 10 23rd November 2017 update, I can't play FFXIV in DirectX11 anymore... I have tried countless solutions and I've been reading tons of threads regarding this issue but I can't find a way to get this work, sadly.

    Simply put, following said W10 update, when I press Play in the FFXIV Launcher I get this message on top of a black screen: "A fatal DirectX error has occurred (10000000)" following the client closure.

    Before this update, I had no problems at all, I played 3 weeks with a Free Trial and then bought the full game from SE store to keep playing, no crashes, no FPS drops, everything was cool.

    After W10 update, I can't even launch the game, everytime I press Play I get the message above... what I tried so far is:

    - updating my GPU drivers to the latest (my GPU is Nvidia GeForce 960 GTX btw) with a clean installation;
    - switching my GPU settings around (energy saving, etc.) as suggested in other threads;
    - reinstalling FFXIV client;
    - reverting W10 update (which actually worked, confirming this was what broke the game for me)

    The only way I have to get in-game right now is either switching off DX11 mode and play with DX9, or revert W10 update, still, both of them are not real solutions and I would like to know if anyone had better luck than me in fixing this issue.

    Please help!

    How do you "uninstall" the DirectX? In Windows10 they come as a unique package and I can't touch them at all, I tried to download the webinstaller from Microsoft and the result was that my DirectX are up-to-date and correctly installed, no option to remove or repair them. Care to elaborate the process?

    https://www.wikihow.com/Uninstall-Directx try this. Simple terms is using a system restore point for it and is safest route or search online for videos if you don't want to do it through restoration point.

    The problem is I can't do it via restoration point, or it will revert the Windows Update back, thus resolving the issue in itself, and representing it when I do the update again!
    Also, the 2nd method explained in that guide isn't doable either because as I said, in the DirectX installer made by Windows, you have no way to uninstall/repair the DirectX, it will simply update them if they're old or if there is any error detected (and there are none). :/

    Also, I would like to add that the other games I have installed run perfectly fine even after the Windows Update, no issues at all, FFXIV only.
