    Enhance Blacklist

Right now, it is functionally useless. All it does is prevent you from seeing what they type into chat, which is actually detrimental if they are talking crap about you.

If someone is on your blacklist, they should NEVER be in any DF, PF or instance you are in, and vice versa.

You should also have an option to mute them from any/all of your chat logs, or not. By default, the blacklisted player should not be able to send you tells.

Umm... They can't send you tells? And it does mute them from all chat channels.

I agree. Let's assume you reported them the first time around. They might've even gotten a warning. But you, following the advice of the GM who replied to you, blacklisted them. Now they're at it again. On one hand you don't see it, which is yey, but on the other hand they're going on unpunished while performing a repeating offense. Furthermore, depending on what they say, they might actually affect the opinion of the people who not only see what they say about you, but see you standing there and silently taking it because you can't see their messages. Which is absurd, when you think about it, because whenever I try to report players for insulting people who aren't myself, the GM tell me they can't accept the report because "I might not understand the context" - which is fair, they might be the kind of bffs who trash talk each other. But in the case of an actual offender, blacklisting them actually protects them from the repeated reports they so deserve.

If someone is on your blacklist, they should NEVER be in any DF, PF or instance you are in, and vice versa.
This would be the ideal, for sure. I blacklisted someone who kept queueing for Trials roulette as a tank and then would just afk because it was faster to finish the HM trial with 7 people than wait to kick them. Guess who I got in my next trials roulette. When I complained to the GM, they basically shrugged at me. But if I blacklisted them, that means I don't ever want to come in contact with them again, not be in the same context as them in-game. If we're on the same server it can't rightly be helped if we run past each other in Reach, but if it's someone from another server? What did I even blacklist them for? I'm better off reporting them every time I run into them in the hopes something would actually budge.

Which is what I posted in the second sentence. The point is, it's not a benefit. You should have the option to do this, or not.

And the option to mute them from your channels is to add them to your blacklist. Just like how, on social media, you would set them to your “Ignore” list, or “Block” list. The feature is functioning as intended there. And the blacklisted player being unable to send you tells is a default setting—they can send them to you all day long, but they’re muted/blocked from your chat so you’ll never see them.

The option to do a sweeping mute of a single person is something only GMs have. I can already see the abuse potential if players had the power to mute/silence a player in-game just because they don’t want them spamming other people’s chats with trash talk.

Which doesn't change the fact that it's still useless. It provides no benefit to a blacklisting player.

    That’s a subjective measure.

The people on my blacklist don’t show up in my chat, their tells do not show up for me, and they can’t join any Party Finder parties that I have made or am in, so I feel like it’s working as intended for me. If they end up in a DF group with me, well I don’t really care. I’ve been there before, and the person actually wasn’t talking any crap about me. Truth be told, they probably didn’t even remember who I was, nor know why I had them blacklisted in the first place.

Players cannot have the GM power to outright mute a player across everyone’s chat. It would take less than 30 seconds for that kind of power to be abused.

You misunderstand the OP. Have an option to keep it like it is regarding chat blocking, or allow players to turn that part off.

Will never happen because it'll be abused. For example if I blacklist all new/bad healers in PvP I'll start getting only good healers which will give me an advantage.

They can join PF groups you're in, just not the ones you've formed. I had a person I had blisted join 3 different OS4 pf groups with me, so I had to keep taking them off the list and putting them back again (in case they would say something important related to mechanics).
