In the squadron runs, everyone (ranged) deals quite a respectable damage. Their stats are significantly increased to make up for the fact that they are dumber than a bunch of bricks. Otherwise it would simply be a pain.
That being said, no one needs to look further than at the healers skill bar to know that healers have the tools to DPS if the situation calls for it. Most people that disagree with healers DPS'ing do so based on their idea of what these circumstances are, rather than anything else, I think. Very few people think that healer should never DPS, unless solo, and the skills being available even in party clearly shows that even developers that are pro-focused-healing think that a healer should throw a DPS here or there. Holy, Assize, Gravity, Miasma II, Bane...all these skills are party-oriented DPS skills, which you are incapable of fully utilizing outside of party. And yet they are there...so yeah.
I ran maybe 2 dungeons with my squadron, the first one was without abusing the engage bug. I was laughing at the many mistakes my squadron made, but at the same time, I was depressed because they were still smarter than the people I get in df.
