So I would like to share with you what I think would fix some of the problems BLM faces, they are mostly a recollection of ideas in this thread that I think would work best for us and also they are easy enough for SE to implement quickly
1) As I already stated in other forms: B4 applies a magic resistance down for 40 secs or so (10% or more)
This would be a Buff to our dmg while also offering a potential group buff, since SAM offers slash down it can be considered a selfish gain that passively benefits the group, while also beign a unique buff not yet given by other jobs.
2) Enochian refreshing our AF/UI stacks to their full furation on use
I think that we could use a failsafe mechanic here and there, I mean DRG can preserve their work with recasting BotD, for us enochian has no further use on our bar once we press it once unless we drop it and honestly we don't want to
3) firestarter/thundercloud duration increased to 30 secs
Not much to say as Llugen said they should be just like ruinIV and RDM procs
Now I have nothing for a burst window or a 2 min CD to sinc with other raids CD (although in the past I did said 1 min CD 20 secs duration ley lines) but honestly on that front I don't see them doing anything before 5.0
My Aim with the changes above is for something easy to add considering the past updates to class balance, now of course I don't want to say that with this we'll fix all or that they are perfect so that's why i ask you to share your opinion since I'm interested in this.
i do also have some other ideas that I could share later but those will probably require an expansion level of the game to eb applied

I'm gonna dump an idea I had in the other thread sorta.
To reconcile a "Raise" skill on BLM it could be that upon a successful "Lifepact" that the raised target becomes tethered to the BLM for 20 seconds, increasing the BLM's damage by 10% (and possibly the target's by 5%) for the duration. If the tether is broken within the duration, the raised target dies again. After the 20 seconds, the tether ends and everything is back to normal again. This would be something to consider for an expansion skill.
Also I think a reverse-song style buff for BLM could fit well; during Enochian the BLM gets increased damage from all players within range of it and players within range of it gain +2% speed.
Here are my suggestions to buff BLM
1) Buff some spell's potency
2) Buff another spell's damage
3) Buff something else's potency too
I'm totally not memeing.


It might be possible that these discussions might have reached yoshida's ears considering the recente all casters rabanastre run they had mmmh
edit: also he said that him saying that BLM would have an hard time on ultimate was a mistranslations he meant that with new content he expect some jobs to be better than others

The core idea is still there. He thinks BLM is not as good for Ultimate as other jobs. Devs' reasoning for that is that some jobs are better than others on specific content. But players have pretty much proven that bad jobs are just consistently inferior in all 8 man content so far.

Perhaps all jobs need not excel at everything, but the discrepancy between BLM sucking in prog/at mechanics and other jobs sucking in prog is massive, to say the least, especially now that SMN can run around like a chicken with its head cut off during DWT.


True but the whole doing rabanastre with only casters and using BLM as dps only feels iffy to me especially him beign too stubborn on some points, maybe I'm seeing too much into it, that said according to the translation he did say that he got the feedback (though he did reference a reddit thread so maybe it's better to make suggestions there too Lol :P)

To be honest proving a point that balance is fine based on a novelty run of a 24 man raid seems a little bit... petty. If it was intended to prove a point at all outside of being goofy and fun, that is.
blm have a harder time on almost all end raid content than othet jobs when its new..., just some (recently the majority) stay hardest for blm compared to other classes
