First off, players citing animations as time consuming: have you really seen how the egis move? Most of it is just minor flips and arm waves (that's partially why they look as simple as they do, so there's no need for complex animations to convey what they're doing) alongside sparkles and flashes of varying style.

Second, we've already seen several models in primal fights that can be egis for the player. For some reason SE thinks adding them in as alternate skins for the established pet roles (tank, ranged, melee) is on the same level as other game's pet jobs that have actual complexity and think this will cause some manner of imbalance. These excuses are literally just that, excuses.

Compared to other adjustments and QoL additions, more egis really should be a lot easier than they're telling us.
