Yeah, I'd love it if they let us color individual parts of our armor pieces.

Also, make it so that once you've bound an armor piece or weapon to your character, you can use it as a glamour without actually having that item in your inventory. I'm sick of having all those armor sets in my retainer, just in case I someday feel like using it as a glamour.

And it'd be cool to have a duel system that let's you fight anyone anywhere, not just in the PvP map. You'd challenge people to a duel the same way you challenge them to Triple Triad.

I do not believe FF14 needs any features from any games. There are improvements to be made, sure, but it does not warrant copying other games. That is honestly unprofessional to do deliberately.

I'd like to see the synergy system from ffxi brought to ffxiv but incorporating it when we have melding and boring stats wouldn't work so I don't see it happening anyway.

    1. I think I could fill this list entirely with "glamour wardrobe". See Rift, WildStar, GW2, and WoW for some good examples.

    2. Instanced housing with improved customization. See Rift and WildStar.

    3. Non-consumable dye system. See GW2 and WildStar.

    4. Multiple dye channels. See Rift, GW2, WildStar, probably others.

Honestly just #1 would guarantee my sub forever.

It's not unprofessional to see what works well in the competition and incorporate it to make your product more appealing. That is literally why WoW became so successful - they take what works (and often improve upon it) and incorporate it into the game.

Blizzard also doesn't exactly have a shiny rep either. As far as concepts go though many games use similar concepts, but using literal carbon copies of things from other games is what I'm referring to. Besides, games differ so much that something from 1 game is likely impossible to implement into or simply won't mesh with another game.

Only, XIV literally did this as they were working on 2.0. They even admitted to visiting Blizzard and other places to check out how their games played and then took what they liked and put their own spin on it. Hence stuff like the F.A.T.E. system and etc. WoW, Rift, GW2, and I believe Tera all have similar systems. They're just content that's been improved upon or slightly changed.

This is your spellbook, but with a crucial difference: it previews the skills in actions, aids in theorycrafting and CD alignment, makes recommendations, and allows the saving of rotations to be progressively displayed on screen when practicing in a dojo, training ground, proving ground, or against a striking dummy, and records how you varied from the given rotation, even allowing you to compare your parsed (ability-by-ability) rotation against your theoretical. It's a massive training tool, essentially. While aided by universal and consistent access to parsing, it does not require such, and can be used solely at player convenience.
So is this kind of what you mean by spellbook?

    https://youtu.be/XP9vL7XriAg

This is 2k glossary, it gives a short video preview of when or how to use a skill.

XIV uses player reticules under players and enemies to show direction faced much like certain sports games do. The training dummy or SSS is an mmorpg version of freestyle mode in basketball games. The scrimmage type feature present in basketball games is low level dungeons in XIV.

Here is the newest version of training in bball games with a dojo or training gym.

One feature from sports I would like to see come in Hall Of The Novice training or SSS is actual segments of any dungeon or raid where the player has control over when a sequence is paused or rewinded to be repeated to experiment with or learn how to dodge every encounter and understand any mechanic. Basically a practice play option like basketball games have. It involves a coaches marker drawing lines on the best place to maneuver or run to, where is the best place to pass, or the best place to shoot. Here it would be markered in to relay player rotation positions and where to go to avoid a certain mechanic.

Instead of cold or hot zones. Overlays for each practice run would show safe zones and danger zones and various other information. Then you would run the play practicing dodging or maximizing rotation usage.

In addition to this concept I would like to see your common sports passing icons used in XIV or at least an option. Hitting a certain button assigns 1-10 button icons to each enemy withing 20 yalms. And instead of cycling, you could press a button icon to instantly target a preferred target.

Yoshida states that this was one of the major causes of 1.0 being the failure it was. In short they had too much confidence in their own skills and in knowing what players wanted best that they simply did not look at the market around them and decided to make the game based in their own feelings of what was best.

On topic: I'd love if they implemented a transmog system like WoW, where once you get a new piece of gear you save her appearance on a wardobre, no need to have the gear in your inventory.

It would also be good if they added some longevity to ex primals, I mean... You run the ex primals 6 or 7 times, get your gear and then have no reason to come back there ever, other than the mount that is either super rng or super grind.
