Neither is she. She said herself that she worded it poorly, shes not saying she wants to take away the look of current Elezen, simply suggesting more options. Which I must say, I would love to have not just for Elezen but for all the races.
More options so she can "fix it". Which would end up making no one look correct. I've seen what people do with silders. Like those horrible Dark souls "joke characters". Can't wait to see some long limbed small body lalafell running around. Thatll make the game look great.
How about, instead of immersion breaking limb and neck sliders, we get more important customization options. Like more faces, or horns and facial features not being tied to the specific faces. How about more unique races? Lets add some of those, like Lupin, Bangaa or even the Viera concepts that we saw before. That is development time spent right.

Sliders would have to be a no, or very limited in the same way the current bust sliders are so that you can't actually have a giraffe neck or something weird like that. I think just having a few more default options would be a great start. More faces for sure, more eye shapes and things like that.I've seen what people do with silders. I'm all for more unique looking races as well, but I do wonder how much time/work it would be to make all the existing armor fit exotic skeletons, I know they said the feet were an issue for Vierra and Lupin.
As for 'fixing' Elezen, I hate to say that I'm one of the people who can't seem to make a female Elezen I actually like the look of. It isn't that I find them ugly, but no matter how much I try I can never seem to make one look the way I want it to in character creation. Male Elezen are gorgeous and should be left just how they are. (Aymeric. <3 <3) But again, more options wouldn't hurt. A way to make them a little more muscular, or maybe a bit shorter. Just a few simple things that would give you more customization, without turning them into Hobbits.

Sliders are exactly what she was asking for. And anyways, a slider that does barely anything isn't even worth adding. I'm still standing by my "no limb sliders" thing.Sliders would have to be a no, or very limited in the same way the current bust sliders are so that you can't actually have a giraffe neck or something weird like that. Also I'm honestly getting tired of the whole "unique races will take too long/too much effort!" thing that people always fall back on. Yes, alot of people play Miqote and Hyurs. But if we are just going to go by the majority, then we might as well force everyone to play Hyur at this point. It'd be like saying "well not alot of people play tank or healer, so we aren't going to add anymore... wait.
Variety and options are always good for the customer. And is well worth the development time. But at the end of the day, Square still doesn't want to give FFXIV the time and money it deserves. So the chances for really unique playable races is very low.
Most of those problems would be fixed with more faces. More faces and facial feature options would do wonders in making the races more customizable. We don't really need to delve into body sizes and sliders, except maybe butt sliders. Keep the iconic look of each race there while adding more customization. As for 'fixing' Elezen, I hate to say that I'm one of the people who can't seem to make a female Elezen I actually like the look of. It just comes down to a matter of time/money invested and the return on that. If SE thinks that the more 'bestial' races are less popular and aren't going to be widely used, they don't really have much incentive to add them. Businesses gonna business, yo. I'm not saying thats how it should be, but unfortunately, thats just how it is.Also I'm honestly getting tired of the whole "unique races will take too long/too much effort!" thing that people always fall back on. Besides, I don't see that many Hyurs around. Not on my realm at least. Tons of catgirls, but catgirls.. so thats expected. Lol
Options that aren't Elezen.
Longer proportions and pointy ears make Elezen - anything else isn't Elezen.
It would be like saying I want to make a Roe that is diminutive as a female Hyur midlander because I don't like the proportions of their shoulder to hip ratio, or some other such silliness.

And if you want to do that, you should be able to. I don't see customization options as a bad thing, as long as its not ridiculous. And like she said, she wants more options, shes not saying they should scrap the look of current Elezen and remake them entirely. Keep your Elezen how you want it, but theres nothing wrong with more choices.Options that aren't Elezen.

There's the difference - I see changing the look of a race to something that no longer looks like that race to be ridiculous...unless you're making a new race. That's what she wants - not just more options, but options that don't fit what Elezen are.
Half-Elezen as an option, that are less lengthy in arm, leg, and neck? Have at it.
Having an Elezen that is less lengthy in arm, leg, and neck? That's not an Elezen. Don't like it, play a different race.
Also, yes I am cranky about this, but Elezen get more "change them please" threads and comments than any other race and it's really starting to get annoying. People are upset that they can't play their Tolkien-esque elves (essentially human but fairer and with pointy ears) and just. Keep. Bringing. It. Up.
