I agree with that as long as it is not something like an ex primal or savage that is out for a while and you join in a farm party. For that you have to inform yourself just for the reason to not be an issue for the party.
If someone is honestly having problems with $60 a month then they really should re-prioritize their things instead of playing a game that you have to pay for internet/subscription as well as buying a console and tv. As for the computer? I never mentioned that at all and quite honestly if someone doesn't have a computer in this day and age then that'd be surprising. I'm not talking about an expensive gaming computer but even a laptop which can be pretty cheap. So does that mean we should expect everyone to have a PC then? For under a $1000 you can buy a PC that's powerful enough to run FFXIV on low/med settings.
As to the expectation that one should have a smartphone though.. it's a $200 smartphone plus easily a $60 monthly fee for anything worthwhile (and even then, not all providers offer much data) and some can't afford the smartphone plans regularly or don't find a need to have a smart phone (or it's plan) when a simple voice+text plan will do what they need to do in life.
After a quick google search I found this for $80 so yeah if you can't even afford something like that but enjoy playing on a ps4 then yes that to me would be a problem.

Sup'
Cleared Creator Savage and Deltascape Savage relevant, probably gonna hit Ultimate Coil soon.
I don't talk in 24-mans and tend to do it blind, as does most of my static. We don't talk because we don't want to waste our time with the chaotic cesspool of bad players and would rather just use our own brains to figure out what are typically incredibly simple and obvious mechanics. In fact, we tend to expect most pugs in our alliance to wipe to the most basic shit ever regardless of whether they've done it/seen it/blind. Sad to say, this is usually the case.
I was running tank on an alt. in the Bowl of Ember story mission for the first time and wasn't going to say anything about being "new" since I wasn't, until someone said "lol, is everyone here new?" I couldn't tell at the time if he was being an a$$ or was genuinely wondering, so I just replied "technically" and left it at that. We wiped a few times at the nail when the other DPS wasn't attacking it. The same guy kept telling them to focus on the nail, he didn't seem upset about it, so after we finally cleared I gave him my commendation since he apparently was just trying to help.
I guess what I mean is: You can never really tell someone's intentions through text alone, so you can't know if they are going to be a jerk at you for being new. You just have to put it out there and let actions speak as well. (Sorry, kinda rambled on that one. Hope it makes sense.)![]()

Gamers don't die, we just go AFK

It is pretty simple. They say nothing because this community criminalize newbies blaming them, don't allow them complete content blocking their access to parties or directly runaway from party every time there is someone new. I see this too many times I've lost the count.
The game is newbie friendly, the community ISN'T. So, it is better say nothing in most cases.
oh for that i agree, a farm party implies a clear or near clear knowlage, mainly the blind runs i do is either content everyone has already been able to have done, brand new content, or if you have a group of people (pre-made or not) with people who are new, who politely agree to blind running, from my experiance saying your new, most people tend to let you run blind, while only a few will explain mechanics.
Sometimes you just got to have Some fun
I can't agree with that. I'm only speaking for myself here but I've never seen anyone try to stop a run just to kick a new guy out or to say they can't join unless the PF specifically says that they need to have done it. The only time when I've seen someone being kicked or something is if they completely refuse to take advice or purposely try to ruin the run for everyone. It is pretty simple. A farm party implies a lot more than a clear. Or near clear.oh for that i agree, a farm party implies a clear or near clear knowlage, mainly the blind runs i do is either content everyone has already been able to have done, brand new content, or if you have a group of people (pre-made or not) with people who are new, who politely agree to blind running, from my experiance saying your new, most people tend to let you run blind, while only a few will explain mechanics.
Just clearing a fight doesn't mean you can farm it. Think that's why so many farm parties fail. Because people clear it once create a farm party and clearly don't fully understand the fight still and thus so many farms become traps
The only party a person with a near clear should join is a clear party. Maybe a learning.
Farm parties certainly aren't the place for blind runs. And people wonder why the no bonus culture exists.
Because a near clear apparantly qualifies them for a farm party...
The same is true for clear parties. If a player is joining one of them having never set foot in the instance and wanting to go in blind. The problem isn't that he wants to do the fight blind it's that he's clearly joined the wrong party in the first place.
There should never be an expectation for players to watch videos or read guides or anything such even if the content is a year old. The only thing players should do is read party finder descriptions or use the correct settings on raid finder. Duty incomplete > duty completion is not the correct setting for the first time in a fight.
The problem isn't that players don't speak up or say there new or anything it's that they clearly shouldn't be in those parties on the first place . And it's players who think they are the exception and join anyway that are responsible for the apparantly toxic no bonus culture. And whining how can we get clears when everything is no bonus....
If no join a learning party and don't tell anyone it's my first time. That's no problem. It's a learning party it should be expected.
If I join a clear party or farm party and it's my first time. It doesn't matter whether I say anython or not. It's blatantly obvious the real problem is I shouldn't be in that party at all in the first place.
