Request: Hempen Garb - Racial Unlock

Whether you would fantasia for glam or not is irrelevant, people do and many on this forum (when this thread has appeared previously) have admitted to doing so for Hempen alone. The differences between miqo'te, au ra and midlander females are negligible in many people's eyes and something as small as unique underwear can swing the decision.

Here's the rub: I'm a Highlander and I hate Highlander Hempen and never actually use it. But it was designed for Highlander, clearly from both a physical and lore POV, and is another unique aspect of the race. Making all the races the same is not the answer and it's clearly not a policy SE is on board with.

And yes, the fascination with Elezen, Roe and Highlander Hempen is primarily because there aren't a plethora of catgirls running around with it right now. That's a good thing.

Yes, people will fantasia for very silly trivial reasons. They will continue to do so even if the hempen set loses it's racial lock.

Clothing does not make a race unique. Clothing can be changed at the drop of a hat. Clothing is not a physical part of your being. Clothing is transitory. You are not your khakis.

And yet again we see it's your distaste for the existence of catgirls fueling your bias.

If they unlock it it's not like they'll suddenly multiply overnight. It's not like lalas getting doused with water and getting fed past midnight.

My female Au Ra’s has absolutely nothing to do with either clan’s lore, its just fanservicey schlock. My Miqo's set is cute, but again, has nothing to do with Miqo'te lore. Had all the sets actually been built around their respective race’s cultures, I’d be a little more inclined to keep them unique, but most of them are just generic cute/sexy panty sets (female) and weird length shorts (male).

I don’t understand being so precious over underwear. For most people you won’t even see it; if the game’s population of exhibitionists is so desperate for clothing that shows a little skin that literally everyone will switch to Hempen glamours and stop wearing anything else, we’d have a serious gear design issue. But there’s no evidence of that and a few dozen catgirls in sexy straps won’t spoil anything for anyone reasonable. There's nothing so outrageous in any of the Hempen designs to make me think they couldn't work on all body types with some minor modifications to accommodate different shapes. They're almost all normal, ordinary, mundane clothing types you can find anywhere in the world outside of the game.

I have never seen any evidence that giving people more things leads to less diversity. The more options, the more glamour variety possible. I might try the Elezen top with the Au Ra loincloth; that combination doesn’t even exist now so that’s an increase in aesthetic diversity right away.

There are some pretty classic differences there which I might add I enjoy tremendously with my alts. I'm all for glamour and the more the better but I'm also in favor of race specific clothing that make each race special. I'd like to see more of it, not less.

Explain to me how these two outfits identify us as our respective races? If my friend buys lace panties while I buy silk, are we identifying as different races or simply showcasing a preference either of us could wear? That's the difference you are attempting to argue and why it's so absurd.

But... underwear doesn’t identify my character as a Miqo’te; the fact that she has cat ears and a tail identify her as a Miqo’te. Same thing for Hyurs: the hempen set doesn’t identify them as a Hyur (in other words, human) race: the fact that they look like humans makes them a Hyur. Lalafells and Roegadyns and Elezens and Au Ra, too. They are not identified by their different underwear sets, but their physical characteristics.

Miqo’te race clothes involve a mini-skirt. Again, I ask you: how does a miniskirt and stockings identify my character as a Miqo’te? How does the Hyuran race clothing identify them as Hyurs? The Elezen race clothes as Elezen?

I wouldn't care if the underwear was gender free, race free, whatever. It should be for everyone, I hardly ever glamour it on any of my characters because honestly I like them to be covered up somewhat >.<

All that dodges the point, which is that racial gear exists (indeed gear unobtainable by many combinations of jobs and genders) and this is unlikely to change at this point.

People can and do fantasia for glamour. Why do you think SE would have reason to change a long-since-established impetus for players to pay money for Fantasias?

You want new glamour options! Great, welcome to the club with just about every other player of the game. What you and those who agree with you have yet to demonstrate is why Hempen alone should have it's racial lock removed. Why not make all gear available to all races and all genders and all jobs? Or is it only because underwear?

Ah, more topics about wanting all glamour for all. While I'm all for glamour equal among each gender/race, I don't agree with unlocking the Hempen Set. I rather they spend more time making new stuff then to go and break the uniqueness of the set. While they mentioned about looking into it, I hope they just make alternate versions of the sets then to just copy and paste them. I hate the fact everyone looks the same after awhile.

Everyone looks the same already: the Au Ra panties are no more unique just because only Au Ra wear them. It just means you have less options to mix and match.

Also there isn't near the resources involved in unlocking the set for all races as there is in making a whole new set. Doing one doesn't negate the other.
