Request: Hempen Garb - Racial Unlock

The viera hempen set is the same as mid lander...I was so dissapointed

Disappointing, but at the same time hopefully that means they're already planning to give them all to every race.

Was this thread forgotten? I saw somewhere that a dev replied to it years ago, saying that they were planning on implemnenting the racial unlock for the hempen garb, but never heard or saw anything about it since then. Are they ever going to unlock it for us? My Viera would look so great on the highlander one!!

There's another one on the same subject that popped up again more recently.

I think it's just about which existing character model they started from when creating the models for Viera and Hrothgar. Both genders of Viera have Midlander gear; Hrothgar has Roegadyn gear. They also share some emotes.

I was expecting male Viera to get Miqo'te gear, and in their first build from the benchmark they had the similarly odd posture that suggested they'd used Miqo'te as the base, but since they "fixed" the Viera posture I suspect they did that by starting over with a Midlander model. (A pity, as I think the Miqo'te top works with the look of their starter gear.)

I'd really like to see the various styles made available to everyone. Female characters have several nice tops that are useful for different outfit styles; male Midlanders have the plain tank top; other men's things are a bit more situational but still good to have freely available.

No they should stay just the way they are. The different races should have unique clothes that identifies them by race. Want to wear their clothes make an alt.

you mean the generic piece of undergarments that the Hempen sets are?

I really don't understand why some people bring this up... If more pieces are made available, there are more possibilities of mixing and matching, thus expanding the range of combination and what someone creativity can achieve. They state as if those sets were an one-piece or something that is not breakable in different items.

I believe what they probably mean isn't "creativity dies!" but "my exclusivity dies!" instead. However, this falls flat when the example in question, of the hempen sets, evokes nothing about a particular race. To the point that Viera and Hrothgar have copy-pasted from Hyur.

I'm fully in support of having the different hempen pieces available to all the races. I was highlander when I switched to viera, and I was using the hempen piece at the time so it was the first thing I noticed. The highlander hempen piece is a particular pain point for me because it's the only properly dyable piece of it's kind(style) anywhere including the store that doesn't have any extra crap attached to it. Out of the two bikini tops, the only dyable one has a weird tint shift to it that doesn't match anything.

The only way I would ever pay to switch back to highlander is if I could keep my viera walk/run animations.

look I don't even care that much because I never use the hempen pieces in my glams, but like.... people can run around in maid dresses and chicken suits, and being able to wear a slightly different shirt is a lore issue? it's literally just a shirt.
