In Regard to Housing in Patch 4.1

The FC one is flawed. It's still too easy to circumvent for most players. And I still think housing should be allowed for people who do not want to be in an fc without abusing the fc system. Some people really take pride in their homes.

For an interim instead of 1 per account which is what I originally was for. one personal per server I think would be ok. That way alts can still buy a house, but it also encourages participation in other servers if you REALLY want that house.

The housing system is more fine than it is broken. Everyone with a house feels its fine because they worked hard for it and earned it with saavy and time. Everyone who dislikes the housing system usually is someone who didn't put in the time or effort like others have, or got "screwed" at a housing release. Square knows exactly what they are doing with housing, and its why most people play the game. Making housing "un-elite" will ruin the game, and thus ruin why housing is popular in the first place. The only reason people want them is because they are rare and represent status and hard work. I have overpaid for a small, 10 million for small Goblet. I have overpaid for a medium, 90 million for medium Mist.

I missed Larges in Shirogane . I walked by smalls in Shirogane and passed. I missed 2 auto demo mediums by 3 seconds . Why am I saying this? Because I am a poster boy for why people should hate housing, but I do not. The system is full of adventure, skill, timing and luck. All of this is a perfect storm for why housing is so loved.
As I said in the 4.2 thread, t anybody using RMT is for sure screwing over people and houses, but in no way is this a reflection of poor housing, it’s an RMT problem, not a housing one. Gil can buy other things too . Adding more wards is ok, I guess. It might devalue housing and make them less rare, but I can see it. Overhauling the process and penalizing people for work they have done, like taking houses away from accounts, changing FC and personal rules relating to housing obtainment and keeping it after, are all going to cause more problems than solve them.

Again I realize it’s not a perfect system, but by no means did Square "botch" it.

I totally disagree with everything you said:

- People who dislike the current system are putting effort and time like others, but the supply of houses is way too limited to satisfy everyone. I farmed 45M gils for 4 months to buy a manor for my FC, and leave our small house behind, but I can't get it because there are no manors left anymore.
And you can delete the "" around the word "screwed", because yes, people were screwed by an unforeseen server problem during the 4.1 release.

- I don't enjoy housing because it's rare. I enjoy it because it gives me a purpose in this game, like farming Aquapole to get trees for my FC garden, or participate the next Halloween event to get the event decorations. No house > no need to get decorations > no need to do and redo half of the content of the game.

- I don't see why making housing "un-elite" will ruin the game. Other mmorpg with unlimited housing plots are not ruined, so why would it be the case for FFXIV ?
By the way, the fact that plots cost millions of gils is already a factor that makes the housing an "elite" feature. Adding luck to this is just making it unfair for people who pay the same subscription as you, and put time and effort to get the money to buy it.

- You said you have overpaid your different plots... do you mean that you bought your plots to house flippers ? If that's the case, then you are contributing to make the game even worse by promoting illegal plots selling.

If you worked that hard and didn't get one it's not the systems fault, it's yours along with some chance. Thats part of the game. Alot of people make gil, alot of people play alot. Because they got one and you didn't you are mad. If you got one you wouldn't be mad. This is FFXIV, not any other game, so it should be held to its own standards. If you think the amount of houses is too low, maybe you should work harder at getting one, like the people who got one did? You can't blame login issues cause everyone was subject to the same login process. Everyone played by the same rules. Not everyone is going to get a house, sorry. I bought my plots from friends who have played since 1.0, because they got new ones. You could do the same, but only seem content with getting one the easy way instead of working for it like everyone else.

It's pretty trendy to just blame the game and the system, instead of working harder and getting one like everyone else. How about this: buck up and do what it takes to get one, instead of trying to change the game to practically give you and every other 2 hour a week player. If you can't beat em , join em, and keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Well my lord, tell me what you would do in that situation:

You want to get a manor and you have more than enough money to buy one, but :
- There are no manors left on your server
- no one want to sell theirs
- maybe there is a house flipper who sell it, but it's illegal.
- SE plan to add 3 manors next month, but oh boy, there are thousands of players like you who are ready to jump on it when it get released. You can already imagine the connections issues that will stop you from getting one... (unless you are lucky, but consider pure luck as an extra effort is madness.)
- you are already a FC member with a few friends you love. So abandon them to go in another FC which possess a manor is out of question.

Tell me now, what you gonna do? Try to hack the account of a manor owner?

So server errors are part of the game now >.> cool story.

My FC owners got hit with the log in error. They could not upgrade their small FC house, which we could really use an upgrade. But sure i guess that error is just part of the game.....

I hit the why won't play actually play error....I was able to relocate my small house....But that error is just part of the game....and even though i relocated, I think the system is complete and utter crap....their supposed new fancy servers failed. Plain and simple. That is NOT part of the game and never should be considered as such....

Buy a 2nd account? Settle for a medium? Thats what I'd do. Not everyone is going to get what they want. I had enough for 2 larges, now just have a medium and a small. Have to wait for a large to come up, whether new patch or when I save enough to buy one from a friend.

No one said server erros were " part of the game " thats just an irresponsible quote. I did in fact in fact imply that some getting plots and some not was part of the game, but good job with the context there. Login errors didnt pick random players, they happened to everyone, and randomly. If you got one you werent special, you were normal.
