Alright...I feel like the original point that I was trying to make is getting lost. So let me restate it - players need to stop complaining and saying 'WoW did this and it was great, therefore FFXIV needs to do it too'.

Uhm...no. And again, I have to restate, what WoW is doing is working for that MMO. Doesn't mean it'll work here in FFXIV. I'll admit, I didn't realize that the devs looked to WoW for some inspiration. That's fine. I didn't post this only because of the guy complaining about FATEs. I've seen this pop up lately about as often as those posts claiming 'Square is discriminating against Dyslexia'. If the devs see something nice, they shouldn't copy-paste it to FFXIV.
