In Regard to Housing in Patch 4.1

Hello! and Thank you SOOOOOOO much for noticing our suffering ;_;

PLEASE make personal houses and FC houses in different wards... example: Ward 13 (FC housing only). Ward 14 (Personal Housing only). To give FCs a chance to get a house.. we cant race people and their alts when we keep getting disconnected from the game..

but thank you again for your post it really made me and so many of us happy! we can FINALLY get our FC house! wooooooo \ ^-^ /

Thank you yoshida for coming one more time to us, to say you hear us, and apologize... in 4 years, it is probably the... 20th time? PvP, housing, diadem, etc etc...

Just a question, because other time you did apologize and... nothing more. Will you fix the issue, or just add some wards? ... Because i would like be able to say that i was here when you did anything else than lying or showing no interest about housing (between "price will be same across all world" you said before release, "Personnal housing will be cheaper than FC" and others... the fact that... NEVER this system was good... Maybe for 4.2, the FFXIV housing will have finally a full new system, maybe you will do more than all time the same thing as you do from the ARR release? )


Btw... I remember well the ring you received and you was happy to show us. It really was a nice ring

The fact that's even a potential arguing point already implies such a measure is doomed to fail. Not only does it reveal shortcomings, but it also reinforces the fact that there just won't be enough. Let's hope that's not what they think is a worthwhile plan... because wow. I mean, I half-jokingly mock their inept execution of many things, but it's just going to end up being serious mockings at that point... that's a pretty disheartening reality if it came to that.

This would also make it very apparent who bought gil right before housing was released when we see completely obscene gil amounts climb up the auction history and provide enough time to report and disqualify them and insure only those who earned money fair and square get the plot.

Keep in mind people have been saving up gil for YEARS for a house, so being able to put in a big bid doesn't mean you have been involved in RMT. I have been trying to get a house for over three years, and as I have failed every time, the money pile grows since there is nothing else for me to spend it on. And your suggestion would mean my saving up would get me reported!? That's a terrible idea.

Just please give everyone who wants a house the chance to grab one.. some servers have up to idk, 15k+ active players and there are only 2000~ houses.. it's just not fair for all the ones that can't grab one. Everyone should be able to pick up a house, everyone pays a sub and should be treated the same way..

Not sure if it's already been mentioned here (11+ pages...), but after seeing this response, I just had to wonder...

After a bit of quick maths, I realised there are currently only 2880 plots of land in each World - 4 cities, 12 wards (Including subdivisions), 60 plots.

Is it not possible to create some form of automated generator where a new ward/subdivision will be created once the most recent has reached 75% capacity? Or something like that...

I know that this will create a LOT of data, especially on high-population servers, but it'll balance out across the server, even if most people move to properties of one city over another - that city would just have a lot of wards, while others only have a few...

Having said all this, I must thank you, Yoshida, and the rest of the FFXIV team for so promptly addressing the housing issue, and for bringing Eorzea (and beyond) back to us.

Really appreciate we can have another opportunity to get houses, but I think it is a really bad idea to deploy more houses in other big patch, I think it should be deployed in a 4.X5 patch, or a bigger one in a later time, the main issue about this fiasco was the conectivity issue, loads of players trying to enter at the same time. For my case, my homemate and me tried to purchase two mansions (a private and a FC house) and we were kicked like 5 times. Once we could login, there were like more than 200 players stalking Kugane aetheryte stone, and obviously, no houses left.

It is my belief that in order for the developers to satisfy the demand, it will require a major change to the current design of housing that considers what I believe to be a basic cultural difference between Americans and Japanese.

I have observed that the Japanese seem to be quite happy with just having a cottage. I have observed on at least one server located in Japan that the small plots are all sold out. But the medium and large plots were not at the time I looked. (This was well before Shirogane, and I do not have an ability to look at Shirogane on that Japan server now.)

However, Americans seem to find greater status in having things BIG. Because of that, I believe that it will be necessary to have a design that will allow for a much greater quantity of large plots on the North American servers than the 10% of all plots in each ward that exists in the current design. (I do not know if Europeans have a demand similar to either Japanese or Americans, or something else in between.)

On at least some North American servers, the Large plots of Shirogane were sold out in as little as 2 minutes from the time the servers came up. The rest lasted maybe another 10 minutes.

In the current design of housing, it will be nearly impossible to offer enough Large plots to satisfy the demand on North American servers. And I suspect it will be a pretty significant change to the current design to offer a different count of each size on each world to satisfy the difference in culture between those worlds.

But it does need to happen. I doubt it will though.
