Look if free to play games like Elder Scrolls Online and LOTR can generate a new ward of housing everytime one fills up then there's absolutely no reason that FFXIV can't do the same!

Thank you for your response! My feedback is 1 house per account.
What if a timer to purchase was implemented ?
Example : One house (Personal or Free Company) purchase per service account with a timer of 14 days or so starting once land has been purchased on that service account before being able to purchase another house.
This would give people a chance to choose which character they most would like a house for have a shot, while not preventing the ownership of as many houses as you want over time. Also letting those who currently have many homes to keep them.
I would also love to see wards dedicated to Free Companies that would have more Large and Medium houses with a few Small or Extra Large houses.
Hope this housing stuff gets figured out.

This is welcome news. I know there were many people disappointed that they couldn't get housing on my server as most if not all plots were sold within 15 minutes of the patch going live.
A question/suggestion regarding this as a result of the issue where a friend was unable to secure a house for his FC due to how fast plots were claimed. Has there been any consideration of making special wards to allow FC easier access to housing? For example maybe a ward where adjacent small plots are combined into medium or large plots, and only small plots are available for purchase as private estates? (All medium or large plots would be designated as FC housing only)
Yeah so I'm going to point out the flaw in 1 FC house per account suggestion. If you have 50 players in 1 FC on different accounts, that's one house purchase per member on a different account that can buy a house... I don't think anyone wants that.
Better suggestion;
+ 1 FC house for each FC. It gives every FC an opportunity for a home.
+ 1 personal house for each server (or account)
I would love to see for apartments:
- Room sharing with multiple friends
- FC options
- expanded rooms (maybe two rooms instead of one)
- Indoor patio feature (for outdoor objects limit ten item)
- Relocate from house to apartment
I would love to see a personal house convert to FC house option, I would even pay a Gil fee to make the conversion.
First, kudos to Yoshida for speaking up and having a plan. Since they aren't sure on the plan yet I'd like to make some suggestions, hopefully they catch on.
1. Limit housing to one FC, one personal, per account, per server, for people who already have housing that would bypass this limitation, either grandfather them in or make them choose the FC house they want to keep and transfer ownership on the other and make them choose the personal house they want to keep and give them a full refund and return furniture where possible for others.
Continued Below:
2. Implement a lottery system or an auction system that spans across one week or at least a few days. In the case of an auction it should keep going until bids stop and bids are locked in after a certain period of no bids occurring so nobody can jump in the second before the auction is set to close in a pre-scheduled environment like Ebay, it should be handled like a real auction house except instead of a few seconds between bids maybe there is an initial guaranteed 2 day period of bidding and it keeps going until people stop bidding, where a reasonable timer starts to countdown and if nobody bids in that time the house goes to the last bidder. This would also make it very apparent who bought gil right before housing was released when we see completely obscene gil amounts climb up the auction history and provide enough time to report and disqualify them and insure only those who earned money fair and square get the plot.
I suggest a lottery because for those of us on hyper populated servers it was basically like a lottery but with error codes instead of ticket numbers, everyone on Cactuar and similarly populated servers signed on as soon as maintenance ended, in my zone it was 6:00:00am on the dot. My launcher took 30 or so extra seconds to load the "Play" button then it normally does, and that sealed my fate, All Large or Medium plots were gone by the time I was out of the login queue and almost every small was gone shortly after, by 6:30am every house in every housing district was gone.
3. Separate the FC workshop from housing, make a factory or similar building in the major cities that FC's get a "workshop" inside of and make it possible to use all items that provide items or FC points like Airships, Aetheric wheels etc. This would reduce a lot of the salt for FCs that would happily just craft and send off airships. You could also separate gardening from housing by giving everyone space on a Farm, and the Chocobo Stable could go there to. This would limit the features exclusive to housing to *just* decoration, and severely lower the demand for the feature to enthusiasts only and you probably wouldn't need to add much more space. Thats all I've got.

Logged in 5am day off. Free Goblet plot 5 second walking distance from new pool area. Tried to relocate FC house. Cannot due to not having permission. FC leader is at work. Did not want to lose opportunity. Bought plot as personal in hopes of switching over later. Come to find out I cannot switch house from personal to FC unless I relinquish, repurchase and lose the millions already spent. Long story short, now I have two house.
SE lets us switch from personal to FC without relinquishing first and some random players gets a free house on Goblet (Exodus).
