Implement a lottery for house plots

All of this talk of the first come first serve setup that has been in place with the housing plots has got to be revamped at minimum. Instanced housing isnt happening anytime soon nor is a revamp of the system as a whole but its implementation should at least be looked at.

There needs to be criteria placed to allow a chance for those who have never had a house plot before to have a shot. The most fair way has to be a lottery system to where you talk to a npc and place the gil amount for a plot you want with a drawing system in place after 1 week. The luck of server hardware/software being against you and a throttled login system this would make better sense then feeding bad habits of missing real life and sleep for a chance to play a part of the game denied to people because of scheduling.

On top of that people who have never had a house should get a priority over those with houses on other characters.

I could not disagree more. This does not solve the issue, it just changes who gets left out. That's just going to create more angry people.

Forget about instanced housing and bad “solutions”, they should just make more wards, we are not in the same situation we were 3 years ago, the game has more subs, a cash shop, and we even have to pay 30$ for each fan fest stream, they have the money, we just have to DEMAND it.

People are going to be left out as it is. This just reshuffles to give a larger amount of people a chance which it should. Talk about it solving the crisis overall is another topic because SE will not deal with the real issues before the new ward is released. The foreseeable future we all know the out lining problem will persist. This is the best solution in the context of the current system as is over the same people taking plot after plot.

As I said this is a different issue because something like that huge of a revamp would take time and energy. We do not have much time before new plots are released and would it least make things more fair. People are going to be angry regardless but the reason will be because they lost the lottery over not having the shot it least.

But it doesn't give a larger amount of people. It gives the same amount of people but takes out any semblance of controlling your own fate. The only positive I can see to this method is it takes away the ability of trolls to open trade windows to interrupt sales.

You are wrong it gives EVERYONE that wants a plot a better chance then how its currently implemented. I and about half my friend list will nto even have a chance because of scheduling. The people that would really be burned are those who are going to be engage in the initial rush once servers are brought up. It gives more people a chance to be in the running for the same amount of plots as those who will be camping the spot for server up.

It changes nothing. With your system it'd just be completely random. Letting players CHOOSE is the best course of action. That wouldn't change the demand or the number of plots. It sucks, I know, but this wouldn't make it better. The amount of harm it would do would outweigh the good...and there isn't much good to come from it. Players would be angry...very, very angry.

So what really concerns you isn't the problem of not enough housing, but that you personally won't be able to be on to get one. Gotcha. You're not really interested in solving the problem at all, just in what you can get out of it.

Not sure how a personal attack actually contributes to this discussion. Why would it be a worse idea then the current system of how people get housing? You think it is fair that 90% of the player base not being able to have a shot is better then only those who can afford to commit to the time for the running of the plot buyers?
