While I miss my ffxi avatars I'd much much rather have them fix the mess they made of SMN in SB.

Wow you got me, I am bested (slow clap)No it certainly doesn't. Your answer shows me that you have either no clue of smn's issues or are just too ignorant, because you want everybody to know about your super inventive idea. well yoshida himself once said that there could be coming new glamours, BUT, if you read the relevant threads about his balancing issues you would know that glamours for egis would a) Not rlly fit into the role they are given and b) this would be the last thing they would work on since there are so many complaints about this job. So just no.
Oh and btw, with summons I mean classic style summons, spontaneous ones. and not pets
But in all seriousness just stop, cause you haven't shown yourself to be proving your case, but rather beating a dead horse. Because:
1) As you can see by my info I main SCH, so anything that involves updates to the Arcanist base class and all its affiliates, ie SMN, are of interest to me; that and SMN being my primary or secondary DPS since 2.x
2) The "Super Inventive Idea" that you say I want "everyone" to know about wasn't even mentioned until someone reminded me of it, well after your initial comment.
3) You don't know what I have read about SMN, but the fact remains the issues they are fixing are recent compared to the glamour system and egis/summons we were promised 2-4 years ago.
4) The whole reason we were told about the system was because of the initial balancing issues, not the new ones, and yes while we know its not a major concern now we as the player base would like to think they were working on it in small dose for these 2-4 years.
5) Summons: Classic, Egi, Demi-Bahamut, whatever, all relates to this issue as the whole reason we were told about the glamour system was because, as you said so yourself...
Now please, this thread was started just to ask people what they thought about the Summons, because of the info we've been given in the past and the lack of info for this upcoming patch. You are free to give your opinion on this topic in any shape or form, but please, I would appreciate not trying to single me out for my own opinion or ideas just because you feel I am trying to get attention, which I am not.
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
this has being going on since 1,0. People think that if they work on 1 item, it takes away another. People still haven't realize different teams work on all aspects of ff14. like the dungeon team isn't doing egi glamour.
they also feel it is a waste of resources better spent on their favored content.

Well, it's still art, modeling, animation, UI elements, a certain amount of programming, and then possibly some new sound design. That's multible teams.
Carbuncles were very easy to implement by comparison since everything was already completed save for the commands that swap out the models.
Proper Egi glamours that replace one Primal themed pet with an entirely new one takes so much more effort. And while art side can put the time in, the part of the team that handles the actual implementation may not have the spare manpower to allocate right now.
So, unless it is so fervently desired we don't EVER shut up about it (IE, every pet job player immediately decrying the loss of Sustain), SE might not notice.
So we need to keep on requesting them.

I\\'m sooo sure the art department has their hands full working on job fixes...
/s....
You people... The "fix the job instead of making more egi" is the stupidest thing I\\'ve Hearn in a while, different group of people working on it designs than working on class actions/balances.
I have been waiting for new egi since before... 2.2 or so... Originally they promised us "oh yeah, we plan to give you a Levi egi and a ramu egi and a Shiva egi, we think it would be cool...." Then it was "oh well the 3 egi really cover the bases and when we do new ones we want them to have a use so give us time to figure out a use for each one"
at one point it was "well it\'s unfair to give smn new skills like adding egi and not giving other classes something too"
Then it's "oh well we decided that we're just gonna give you glamor of ramu Levi Shiva and other egi"
And then at like 3.x it's "well here a few recolor of carby instead of new egi like we promised years ago before Heavensward even came out."
So Ive been waiting, and waiting, and waiting. Every time we got a primal I was all "oh Yay, maybe they\'ll finally release the egi... Or at least the glamor."
It's time they start doing what they said they would years ago back in 2.x and give us our other primal egi. I don\'t care if they are glamor or not. I want to be able to pull out a ramu egi zone or a Leviathan egi, or Shiva,.. You get the picture.
Far too long they dragged smn along with empty words...
Hmmm, makes me wonder if in 5.0 we'll get new egi. Probably will get a new egi glamour in later patches, but I'm still at least a little hopeful for a new egi or two at some point. ^^

This is true. I just find it very silly is all. Of course it's only natural that different people love different things about a job. For example I love the Egi and Demi-Bahamut. But I know other people who prefer the DoT's and instant nuke abilities (Fester, Painflare). However the truth of the matter is that all of these things can coexist and will continue to be developed as the job progresses.this has being going on since 1,0. People think that if they work on 1 item, it takes away another. People still haven't realize different teams work on all aspects of ff14. like the dungeon team isn't doing egi glamour.

I see a couple comments on this thread of people seemingly asking for the Carbuncles to just replace the Egi all together. Which is fine if you prefer the Carbuncles. But suggesting for the Egi to be removed for them makes no sense. The systems the Carbuncles and the Egi use are the same thing. Both utilize the exact same pet system. The Egi glamours already allow you to change every current Egi into a Carbuncle. I also assume that when other Egi glamours are released, that more Carbuncles will be released alongside them as a counterpart (Ramuh Egi/Amethyst Carbuncle for example). Which just facilitates my whole point that we can have all of these things WITHOUT having to ask for other things to be deleted.
If people want more Summons like Demi-Bahamut, I totally support that. If people want more Carbuncles, I totally support that too. And if there are people like me who also want these things and more Egi glamours. Then obviously I'm going to champion that also. All of these things are helping to build up Summoner and expand the amount of limited Summons we have. People should be coming together and supporting anything that helps expand on the jobs main theme. Summoning! Instead of being selfish and immature..
