Egi Glamour Update

I don't understand why people are at odds over Egi Glamours...People are acting as if it has to be one thing (Egi) or the other (Demi-Bahamut). But that's never been the case. It's perfectly plausible to have both the Egi, with a whole plethora of glamours. As well as Demi-Bahamut and other Summons like him. Personally I adore Demi-Bahamut! He encapsulates everything about what a Summon is, and is definitely the greatest addition to Summoner. I have read some people on here and on Reddit request that glamours get introduced to Demi-Bahamut. So that we can glamour him into any of the Primals. Which I think is a great idea. But I also kinda like the fact that Demi-Bahamut is special. He is an Elder Primal after all. So I feel he would always need to be a special, more powerful type of Summon in order to reflect that.

I love my Egi just as much though! I like the fact we can have some type of permanent Summon out, that functions like a pet. So I will always champion the Egi and their glamours! I am really hoping more Egi glamours are announced soon. I have been slowly building up a Summon macro book (classic FFXI style) so that I can switch between all the glamours on the fly and Summon them instantly. That may sound kinda silly. But I really enjoy building up that macro book, and I really hope I can fill it up with an Egi glamour of every single Primal. It's just a personal goal of mine.

This is true. I just find it very silly is all. Of course it's only natural that different people love different things about a job. For example I love the Egi and Demi-Bahamut. But I know other people who prefer the DoT's and instant nuke abilities (Fester, Painflare). However the truth of the matter is that all of these things can coexist and will continue to be developed as the job progresses.

I see a couple comments on this thread of people seemingly asking for the Carbuncles to just replace the Egi all together. Which is fine if you prefer the Carbuncles. But suggesting for the Egi to be removed for them makes no sense. The systems the Carbuncles and the Egi use are the same thing. Both utilize the exact same pet system. The Egi glamours already allow you to change every current Egi into a Carbuncle. I also assume that when other Egi glamours are released, that more Carbuncles will be released alongside them as a counterpart (Ramuh Egi/Amethyst Carbuncle for example). Which just facilitates my whole point that we can have all of these things WITHOUT having to ask for other things to be deleted.

If people want more Summons like Demi-Bahamut, I totally support that. If people want more Carbuncles, I totally support that too. And if there are people like me who also want these things and more Egi glamours. Then obviously I'm going to champion that also. All of these things are helping to build up Summoner and expand the amount of limited Summons we have. People should be coming together and supporting anything that helps expand on the jobs main theme. Summoning! Instead of being selfish and immature..

I mentioned this to someone and they sorta liked the idea of all around glamours. Basically, the minor Primals like Ifrit, Titan, Shiva, Ramuh, Garuda, and Leviathan, become glamours for summon I/II/III, but we'd also get glamours for Bahamut, like Odun, Alexander, the Triad, etc. This way we can pick which Primal we want at any given time. The glamours for the basic summons would require some work so they can fit each role, but the other summons would be easier by comparison.

But if something like this happens, the abilities would need to be renamed to like Grand Summon and Grand Enkindle or something. Grand Summon works, as its a shout out to FFX, but not sure about the other Enkindle skill.

I responded with my opinion about patch notes in a thread about patch notes. I wanted to get people's opinions on a specific topic (egi glamours), so I created a new thread for a new topic. Why would I try and derail a thread for a seperate topic.

No it certainly doesn't. Your answer shows me that you have either no clue of smn's issues or are just too ignorant, because you want everybody to know about your super inventive idea. well yoshida himself once said that there could be coming new glamours, BUT, if you read the relevant threads about his balancing issues you would know that glamours for egis would a) Not rlly fit into the role they are given and b) this would be the last thing they would work on since there are so many complaints about this job. So just no.

Wow you got me, I am bested (slow clap)

But in all seriousness just stop, cause you haven't shown yourself to be proving your case, but rather beating a dead horse. Because:
1) As you can see by my info I main SCH, so anything that involves updates to the Arcanist base class and all its affiliates, ie SMN, are of interest to me; that and SMN being my primary or secondary DPS since 2.x
2) The "Super Inventive Idea" that you say I want "everyone" to know about wasn't even mentioned until someone reminded me of it, well after your initial comment.
3) You don't know what I have read about SMN, but the fact remains the issues they are fixing are recent compared to the glamour system and egis/summons we were promised 2-4 years ago.
4) The whole reason we were told about the system was because of the initial balancing issues, not the new ones, and yes while we know its not a major concern now we as the player base would like to think they were working on it in small dose for these 2-4 years.
5) Summons: Classic, Egi, Demi-Bahamut, whatever, all relates to this issue as the whole reason we were told about the glamour system was because, as you said so yourself...

Now please, this thread was started just to ask people what they thought about the Summons, because of the info we've been given in the past and the lack of info for this upcoming patch. You are free to give your opinion on this topic in any shape or form, but please, I would appreciate not trying to single me out for my own opinion or ideas just because you feel I am trying to get attention, which I am not.

ff10 they were a pet, built a age then use their limit break.

ff11 they were pets as well.

ff14 stems a lot from ff11 if you didn't know.

Don't get me wrong. SMN is one of my favorite classes of the game. I played Warlock on WoW from 2008 to 2015, so it just feels all too familiar to me. The summoned demons of that game weren't that much bigger than the egis of today, so it all works out. And while stuff like Leviathan egi and Ravana egi would be interesting... DOES NO ONE REMEMBER THIS GUY!?

I mean, holy crap, Yuna just dragged a great old one up from Hades itself to serve her! And then had its bottom half break free of its bonds and punch the living tar out of that thing! AND THEN collapsed the entire dark dimension on it! I tell you, if we could bust out stuff like that as a limit break in Savage content, it'd take it from a true challenge to farming fodder PDQ.

Well, I mean first we were told we are getting new Egi's..then glamours at 3.0 because..whatever reason they gave, and then the glamours didnt come till the very end...heh see the pattern? I am not holding my breath >.>; I'm sure if Yoshida could put in everything he would but I guess they have priorities and it seems like SMN isn't really one.
