That was a very long post, that over generalized the view point of the other side of the argument. Good job. (I say that with a straight face) I guess anyone you disagree with must be spoiled and entitled yes?

Honestly I felt like she nailed it.

I keep saying it, but this patch is really barren for progression focused players. The lot of us coming forward and pointing out all the incoming content only to see it handwaved as not good enough gets frustrating.

But I get it. When your focus is on making a powerful character, this game has always been able to fulfill that desire.

We desperately needed a QoL focussed patch, Ivalice is already inducing nostalgia tears just from the trailer's music, and I'm really hype for another PVP mode. But, jeez, I was really looking forward to being about to stay on task for the new relic. Oh well.

(Maybe, I'll be able to snap a house up from all the players relocating...)

That doesn't negate that fact that is is content. Again, just because you have no intention of doing it doesn't mean it doesn't exist as content.

I'm being realistic and not hand waving. Can you honestly sit there and tell me that swimming in the housing areas is going to occupy you for three weeks? How much time do you spend swimming now? I have already covered every point she made. I can quote and repost if it helps. The raid isn't intended for everyone, the devs already said this. Squads have you do dungeons that haven't been relevant for 4 years. Unless your saying that not creating a new dungeon so we can do 4 old dungeons is a good thing. Then she talks about eureka that is not in this patch when the discussion is about this patch. Bringing up content coming in 5.0 is just as relevant to this discussion.

The difference between you and I here is simple; I have other things in game to work on happily in tandem to the new bits on content. We aren't the same category of player.

I'm still working on my Animas, I still have minions and mounts to collect, I'm still working on gaining Adders achievements, I still have side jobs to level, I still have some furniture to add to my apartment, I still have some EX content to catch up on, and I still want a Squadron full of Lalafell to earn.

Tbh, I'm plenty busy when I do play.

So when I hear players say, "I'm so bored! There is nothing for me here!" I'm fully aware you aren't interested in anything but making your iLVL higher and what to smash it against.

And this isn't the patch for you.

And? You and people with your mentality fail to realize this is a game with players with varying tastes. Who cares what the percentage of players who want to access that content, or can, are? They're filling a niche, just like any PvP content added. Not everyone crafters or gathers, but under your mentality and others with your mentality, it's not content because X amount of people don't want to do it? That's inane.

Best personal example: I hate triple triad. SE putting in triple triad, because I hate it, means it's not content and, therefore, wasted resources. Nevermind there are people out there that like mini games.

Also, you realize that "95% of the player base" is solely NA/EU rates, right? The Japanese servers have a 76% clear rate. So much for "just 5% of the player base."

There is a backlog of games I could go back to, but this patch I'll just be doing the same old creation grind, 24 man, and try Savage again so I can at least beat O3 and not struggle so much on O2 with pugs. I'm determined to beat every EX primal this expansion, dog, weapon and all unlike in HW where I was so behind learning parties for old stuff are few and far between and people are still impatient.

Also caved in and bought Destiny 2 in case I just don't feel like logging into Eorzea for a while.
