Where is the content that they wanted to create instead of one of our dungeons? I did hope that we would get those things in the patches where we have one less dungeon?

So nothing truly new, but one dungeon less. A raid that seems to be again a FF fanservice one (but looks at least really good), delivery items that are kinda exactly the same like Zhloe (heck they even use the orphanage story and a kitten again), squadron that are just able to go into a small number of certain dungeons...and one new PVP mode. And the standard stuff like MSQ, dungeon, glamour and side stories.

Why do we still not have Eureka? They talked about this for so long yet its still not even there. Was it Diadem 3.0 and they saw that people still did not like Diadem 2.0 so they put it back on hold to redo it?

I really hope that I will get a big house for my FC in Shirogane because that would give me the motivation back to playing this game more. The trailer truly did not make me feel that hyped. :/

Sadly, wrong I was.... Complains about lack of content ... Yet again does do much in game ....
When will people stop using that as an argument? So if people have not done everything that is possible in the game they are not allowed to complain about content? I hope that you will remember that too when you complain about something in the future..

So well then SE should be able to just implement the MSQ, one dungeon and maybe a new impossible achievement and nobody should ever be allowed to complain about a lack of content if they did not finish that achievement, right?

Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Squadron AI of any kind already makes up for another dungeon no one will remember. We also got an expansion to treasure maps which has never happened before. Changes to housing zones that hasn't happened since Apartments.

Your sig is also 4 years old, get over it.

Treasure Maps were added in 2.1, The Aquapolis was added in 3.3. Feels like said expansion has happened before.

Apartments only happened 2 patches ago...

There's only 5 dungeons you can run with Squads. You can not get Squads until 47. So you could probably easily solo any dungeon these are used in by this point. So it's useful for....leveling solo? Even though most people would still opt for POTD. Seems like a bit of a useless feature so far.

yea and now we're getting an expansion to Uznair which has never happened before. so for SB we have new maps, we have a new dungeon that spawns from maps and now we have an extension of that dungeon. 2.x and 3.x maps did not have that, this is new.

yea, it took them nearly the entire 3.x series to change the original 3 housing zones.

we're now getting an even bigger change to the original 3 housing zones in the first patch of the 4.x series.

it's not going to be super useful, but it's the basis for something that can be expanded on. the point was this was added instead of another Lv 70 expert dungeon, which if most 50/60 dungeons are used as an example most people forget about them really quickly.

How can it be expanded on in a way which justifies its existence? It'll never be used for current expansion content. POTD exists. Roulettes exist. A whole lot of people are above where it could be almost useful. I can see its benefit, but at the same time...the benefit is so small it shouldn't have been a thing. Dev time would have been better spent elsewhere. For example: A L70 version of Hall of the Novice.

that 100% opinion. i've never once been inside Hall of the Novice or Stone Sky Sea. i don't hate either of those things, i don't think either of those things is wasted development time, but any development time going towards those things is definitely not BETTER for me.

    it's justified because it's different.

It would presumably better the skill level of the general population - which was suppose to be a major focus of Stormblood (Failed). This would benefit everybody, including yourself.

    For 1 job, yes.
Not for all jobs who are still low level

So lies from the developers are fine as long as they are from 4 years ago? Cool.

I'll come right out and say it. Ya'll are reaching, and hard, if you think it's a fair comparison to say 4.1 having less content then 2.1 is some kind of mark that it's getting worse by each patch.

2.1 was filled to burst with content because in all likelyhood some, or even most, was stuff that did not make it into the game in time for release (meaning it might've very well been in development even prior to ARR's launch), and you can only add brand new functions to the game to a certain point, as the more you add, the more cluttered and confusing it becomes to the user, and the bigger the game grows the harder it becomes to perform basic tasks like bug testing and fixing.

No idea where you're getting the idea that developers are for some reason not allowed to re-evaluate their stance, atleast when it comes to MMO's, which are games arguably under constant development and changes. Sometimes in such a manner where it's impossible to maintain that one idealistic view the developers had at one point

It's not like they just instantly flipped around and implemented the demolition timer. It took them years, and alot of that time was with players pressuring them quite heavily to do something, anything, about the lack of housing plots.

Adding more wards isnt gonna solve anything in the long run, since for most servers each ward cant even support a sliver of the total population, especially considering FC Housing aswell. Retooling the system to instanced housing would be a immense ammount of work, highly liable to failure and/or bugs with the established houses. But what you CAN do to atleast get some positive effect going, is regularly remove the plots of people who no longer play, and put them back in the market. And it works as a incentive for players to stay subscribed. So it's a win-win for SE.

I have enough faith to believe that they saw a demolition timer as the most sensible option to keep some fluidity going on the plots, not horrificly overload their servers, and to appease the people crying for a solution to the housing shortage atleast untill the devs maybe manages to figure out a way to transition the housing into instanced, without a massive ammount of bugs and/or glitches (or players loosing items)

That some are still holding on to one single statement from 4 years ago only makes you seem as if you're trying to "get them" for doing something you disagree with. Instead of being a responsible consumer, and no longer supporting the product financially
